Blue Fox Yoga is Born!
I am so glad you’re here! I want to tell you a little bit about me and my yoga story. I have been practicing yoga regularly for about 13 years--both for my physical and mental health. It has been a steady part of my life and a touchstone for when things get crazy and out of control. It has helped me to slow down, to build a routine, and I have met some of the most wonderful people in my life due to the practice. My yoga practice started off as a purely physical one for cross-training when I ran long distance. I injured myself often due to over exertion and not listening to my body during long runs. Yoga has helped me develop body awareness--the ability to tune into my body’s cues when something is not right! And even when I was injured, yoga was there for me with plenty of modifications, props, breathing exercises, and meditation. It was after one such running injury that I discovered yoga’s amazing ability to help me find stillness (physical & mental) through mindful & thoughtful movement. This is what I want to share with you. I want to help those who struggle with slowing down, or have a hard time stopping even when they are in the throes of an injury, to learn that there is strength in doing so. I want to help you find this same sense of calmness, steadiness, and strength in stillness on the mat and beyond.
My teaching style is primarily inspired by Hatha & Yin styles of yoga. I received my 200 YTT certification from Kosha Yoga in Littleton, CO. The studio and its teachings were strongly rooted in classical yoga philosophy. In my classes, I focus on anatomical alignment, to keep your body and joints feeling good & working well. Mini meditations & breath work are important within my teaching and personal practice because these tools can be used anywhere and everywhere! You don’t need a mat to breathe.
I hope this gives you some insight into who I am, what I want Blue Fox Yoga to represent, and what you can expect from a class with me. Please reach out if you have any questions. I can’t wait to meet you! Namaste.
