NASTAD is pleased to announce the release of the 2026 National Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Part B ADAP Monitoring Project Annual Report.

The report highlights the critical role AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAPs) play in supporting access to HIV treatment and improving health outcomes nationwide.

One key finding: In CY2024, ADAP achieved an 87% viral suppression rate among clients served, demonstrating the program’s continued impact in ensuring access to life-saving care.

Stay tuned over the coming weeks as we highlight additional findings and insights from this year’s report.

🖤 Today is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

Black communities continue to experience a disproportionate impact of the HIV epidemic in the U.S. In 2023, Black people accounted for 38% of new HIV diagnoses, yet represented only 15% of PrEP users in 2024, highlighting ongoing gaps in access to prevention and care.

Addressing these inequities requires confronting stigma, strengthening access to prevention, and investing in Black communities. Check out this graphic and the entire AIDSVu National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Toolkit for data, resources, and ways to take action:

NASTAD is proud to stand with NMAC and leading HIV advocates in signing onto a letter led by Congressman Mark Pocan and the bipartisan Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus urging the UN to reconsider plans to sunset UNAIDS.

At a time when global coordination and accountability are more critical than ever, protecting UNAIDS means protecting decades of progress in the fight against HIV and AIDS. We remain committed to safeguarding global HIV funding and the programs communities rely on.

📚 NASTAD completed an impact survey to see the potential effects of reductions in prevention/surveillance, viral hepatitis, the HIV/ Program, and overdose prevention programs. The key takeaways were that federal funding is essential since state and local budgets will not be able to fill the gaps in funding. This funding will give people living with HIV and viral hepatitis continuity of care and preserves workforce expertise.
