NASTAD is proud to stand with NMAC and leading HIV advocates in signing onto a letter led by Congressman Mark Pocan and the bipartisan Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus urging the UN to reconsider plans to sunset UNAIDS.

At a time when global coordination and accountability are more critical than ever, protecting UNAIDS means protecting decades of progress in the fight against HIV and AIDS. We remain committed to safeguarding global HIV funding and the programs communities rely on.

πŸ“š NASTAD completed an impact survey to see the potential effects of reductions in prevention/surveillance, viral hepatitis, the HIV/ Program, and overdose prevention programs. The key takeaways were that federal funding is essential since state and local budgets will not be able to fill the gaps in funding. This funding will give people living with HIV and viral hepatitis continuity of care and preserves workforce expertise.
