From November 2nd to 4th, PSR delegates attended the 24th World Congress in Nagasaki, Japan. This meeting was momentous to hold in Nagasaki, being the last city bombed by a nuclear weapon 80 years ago.

PSR members and staff met with colleagues from around the world on urgent topics related to nuclear weapons and global security. We hosted and participated in workshops on divestment, track II diplomacy, climate, health as an imperative for nuclear disarmament, and more.

After spending the week with colleagues working on nuclear disarmament in dozens of countries and discussing the pathways towards nuclear abolition, we are energized to continue our work for peace and world without nuclear weapons.

At the first day of the IPPNW World Congress in Nagasaki PSR met with international colleagues working to abolish nuclear weapons. PSR board member Dr. Joe Hodgkin spoke during the Student Plenary session about activating American medical students for nuclear disarmament. Follow along for more updates this week! ☮️☢️🌏
