The vast majority of our suffering stems from avoiding facing one of these ultimate truths of human nature.

In Buddhist psychology these are referred to as The Five Remembrances, which — in its name — inherently validates our likelihood of forgetting. It is just the way of things.

Take a second to think about the last time you witnessed yourself or someone close to you in a less-than-favorable mood. Did you/they forget or try to avoid one of these truths?
