If you want to know how NOT to parent, listen to this guy. Respect should be a two-way street with your children. The way to teach them how to be respectful of other people is by being a good example-- by treating them with respect, even when they're not at their best. Actually, ESPECIALLY when they're not at their best.

I'm still a bit sick, and it has been a big day with father's day here in Australia, so I am resharing this. We can all use this reminder now and then.

Being forced to comply through fear and manipulation is not respect. Kids learn whatever we model. If we want then to be respectful and grateful then we need to model respect and gratitude.
