LN International

LN International We partner with health facilities in Africa’s poorest regions to build their capacity and radically improve their quality of care. Join the movement.

Guided by the belief that every individual deserves an equal opportunity to lead a healthy and whole life, LifeNet is improving the quality of health systems from the ground up. We partner with church-based clinics and hospitals to provide them with medical training, business training, access to pharmaceuticals, and loans to expand the scope of their services. Community clinics are the first line of defense against morbidity and mortality. LifeNet's helping them to provide sustainable, quality primary healthcare to those who need it most.

We are honored to work alongside Kenya's Ministry of Health, Nairobi Metropolitan Services, MEDs, and faith based health facilities to improve maternal and newborn health in Kenya. The vast majority of maternal and infant deaths are preventable. Together we are working to stop these preventable deaths.

We recently held a distribution event in Nairobi to ensure health facilities have the equipment they need to provide good healthcare and save lives. The event (and more!) was covered by K24TV. The link to the coverage is in the comments.

Sister Emily Kamutu serves as the pharmacy assistant at a healthcare facility in Malawi. Before LifeNet partnered with her facility she did not have training in stockroom management or record keeping. She recently shared with her LifeNet mentor that this lack of knowledge led to wasted pharmaceuticals and inaccurate drug records.

“With the coming of LifeNet, a lot has changed,” said Emily. “You have taught us proper ways of record keeping and documentation of our pharmacy and we are now able to follow our drug consumption rates which helps us to order drugs on time. The stockroom is also improved.”

Sisters in Africa are serving their communities in a wide variety of ways. From operating healthcare facilities to delivering babies to managing facility pharmacies, these sisters are on the front lines of service in countries like Malawi. We are grateful for the chance to encourage and strengthen Sister Emily in her work!

Meet Sister Modester Chilembwe, the administrator at Bembeke Health Center-Dedza in Malawi. Bembeke serves a population area of 30,000 people.

“Pregnant mothers and children under five are the majority of the people we serve and our resources are always stretched,” said Sister Modester. “But with support from LIfeNet, we are building the capacity of our staff at all levels. We now have a good under-five clinic and we are serving many pregnant mothers. We also now have updated financial management systems and systems for keeping pharmacy records and for receipting. All of this is because of LifeNet.”

Our sister partners are on the front lines of caring for some of the most vulnerable patients in the world. It is our privilege to strengthen them in their work!

Sister Bernadetta Kasadzula is the Administrator of Ngodzi Health center in Malawi. Sister Bernadetta recently shared with her LifeNet mentor that, prior to LifeNet training, she and her fellow sisters and healthcare workers faced a number of challenges in both the management of the facility and the quality of medical care they were providing.

“Our finance records were not up to standards as a result our financial management was poor and we used to lose a lot of funds in the process,” said Sister Bernadetta. “Purchasing medical drugs was also a challenge because we did know that we can buy drugs by invoice which gives us an opportunity to buy more drugs in advance. At the same time we used to run out of the essential drugs because we didn’t have knowledge on what essential drugs are. But all of this has changed because of LifeNet Training.”

We are grateful for our Sister partners in Malawi and are celebrating with Sister Bernadetta on the many positive changes she and her fellow sisters and healthcare workers have made in their facility.

Today, we are excited to introduce you to Sister Colleta Bester, the administrator of Malembo Health Center in Malawi. Sister Colleta recently shared with LifeNet some of the ways that her facility’s partnership with LifeNet has transformed the management practices at their health center.

“Management training by LifeNet has helped us to be more professional towards our clients,” said Sister Colleta. “There are tremendous improvements in the accounts section as we are now able to produce monthly financial reports. Additionally, our pharmacy record keeping and organization has improved. We are able to allocate resources accordingly thereby saving some costs that we used to incur in the past. I believe that by the end of our training with LifeNet our facility will be totally transformed.”

LifeNet is thankful for partners like Sister Colleta, who are eager to implement everything they learn from LifeNet.

Our Story

LifeNet International believes that every person in Africa should have the chance to live a healthy and whole life. To that end, LifeNet harnesses local levers for change in the African healthcare community to save lives. LifeNet franchises existing faith-based health centers and oversight bodies in 4 African countries, providing clinical training and pharmaceutical and equipment services, transforming the quality of care patients receive. Local LifeNet trainers travel across Uganda, Burundi, Malawi and the DRC, ensuring that 156 existing health centers can save and improve patients’ lives. LifeNet partners finance their own operations, ensuring local responsibility and sustainability.

In the next ten years, we will operate in ten countries, raise $10 million USD in annual revenue and impact 10 million patient visits annually. We also will expand from 156 health facilities to 1,000 by 2030. As a result, millions of patients in rural areas will receive high-quality care from a well-trained health worker, an option that previously was not available to them. Join the movement.
