Teachers, firefighters, campus workers, home care workers, state workers and other public service workers came together this week to testify at the Virginia Senate Commerce and Labor Committee in support of Senate Majority Leader ’s SB 378, which would allow more than half a million public service workers the freedom to collectively bargain for their wages, benefits and working conditions. So much solidarity between workers from all over Virginia happening right here!! Let’s get this bill across the finish line! ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏾✊🏿🔥

At our reception last Wednesday, state workers from three public universities in Virginia shared their stories of mistreatment, overwork, and lack of fair pay in their workplaces with legislators. Shoutout to for committing to support collective bargaining rights for state workers!

Last week, 60 workers, students, and organizers from all over Virginia gathered in Richmond for the beginning of the 2026 Legislative Session to urge lawmakers to legalize collective bargaining for state workers. The workers met with at least 40 state legislators and their staff. We demand equality with other Virginia employees and urge legislators to right Virginia’s historical wrong! ✊✊✊
