World AIDS Day is a global observance held annually on December 1 to raise awareness about the HIV/AIDS epidemic, honor those who have lost their lives to HIV/AIDS, and show support for people living with HIV. In a year where we're seeing innovations in the HIV realm, such as twice-yearly PrEP, we're also facing new and ongoing challenges to the fight against HIV, including funding cuts and inequal PrEP access.

Now is an important time to reflect on the progress made and the continued work we face in combating this ongoing public health challenge.

Watch NCSD's Learning Spotlight to learn more about the history of World AIDS Day and how you can show your support today and year-round.

Cuts would reverse hard fought progress, dismantle core public health infrastructure, and lead to significant increases in new HIV cases, deaths, and avoidable long-term health care costs.
