Capital Clubhouse Inc. Our nonprofit is a community of adults living with mental illness. We work, laugh & learn together. There are some 200 Clubhouses in the U.S.

Capital Clubhouse a warm and inviting community that offers members a path to recovery from mental illness through friendship, meaningful work, and access to education and housing. Members and staff work side-by-side, as colleagues, in a “work-ordered day,” which parallels the typical 8-hr work day, in performing tasks that are important to keep the Clubhouse community running smoothly. and over 300 around the world, serving 100,000 members.

A Clubhouse for Washington, DC

Capital Clubhouse, Inc. is a DC based non-profit which works to offer people whose lives have been disrupted by mental illness the opportunity to recover meaningfully and achieve productive lives. Founded in 2017, we became fully operational in October 2019 at our NY Avenue Presbyterian Church location. In March of 2020, we began to meet as a clubhouse online daily.

There are some 200 Clubhouses in the U.S., over 300 around the world (see also Clubhouse International--@ClubhouseWorks), and now also one in our nation’s capital. Clubhouses are member-based communities where people living with mental illness can experience respect, hope and opportunities. The clubhouse model is proving to be a great asset in the Washington, DC system of mental health care.
