Key Activities – First Day of the Gratitude Mission in Syria – Sunday, 23 November
📍 Aleppo
Assessment tour in the nephrology department at Ibn Al-Rushd Hospital to review needs.
Six cardiac catheterizations performed at Aleppo University Hospital (diagnostic and interventional).
📍 Damascus and Rural Damascus
Five interventional cardiac procedures performed at Al-Shorta Hospital.
Tour of the intensive care unit at Harasta National Hospital, including follow-up of three cases and training sessions for residents on asthma and electrolyte disorders.
Tour of the emergency department at Al-Qalamoun Hospital in Al-Nabak, including examination of three patients, lab tests, and workflow improvement recommendations.
Five cardiac catheterizations performed at Al-Qalamoun Hospital (diagnostic and interventional).
Clinical rounds at Deir Attiyeh National Hospital and Al-Nabak Hospital, including patient consultations and required investigations.
Seven cases seen in the internal medicine clinic at Al-Mouwasat University Hospital, along with rounds in the pulmonary intensive care unit.
Field visits to pediatric cardiac surgery departments at Children’s University Hospital and the Cardiac Surgery Hospital to review operating rooms and services.
📍 Damascus – Clinical Pharmacy
Tour of Al-Mouwasat University Hospital pharmacy to explore improvements in pharmaceutical services and in-hospital preparation of medications.
Meetings with the Faculty of Pharmacy – University of Damascus to discuss student training, support for graduation projects, and use of hospital data for educational and analytical purposes.
📍 Daraa
Evaluation of approximately 15 hematology-oncology cases at the Daraa Cancer Center, including treatment planning, biopsies and smears, and discussion of complex cases.
📍 Idlib
Six pediatric interventional cardiac procedures performed at Al-Ziraa Hospital, including closure of cardiac defects, valve dilations, and a diagnostic catheterization to assess feasibility of pulmonary artery unification surgery.
