Throughout this week, SAMS carried out a series of activities across several Syrian governorates in recognition of World Diabetes Day, and in collaboration with the health directorates in Rural Damascus, Tartous, Daraa, and Latakia.

These efforts included community sessions on diabetes prevention and management, along with providing essential supplies to support patients, including the distribution of blood-glucose monitoring devices to those in need.

At "A Day of Dialogue with Syrian Civil Society" in Damascus, SAMS joined government representatives, civil society, and international partners under the European Union’s auspices.

The conference provided a platform to exchange ideas on key issues shaping Syria’s future, including transitional justice, youth empowerment, governance, and sustainable development.

Today, SAMS participated in the “Your Awareness is Life” marathon in Damascus, Syria, joining runners to promote a vital health cause.

The event, organized with the Syrian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Health, and supported by UNFPA-Syria صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان - سوريا, focused on raising breast cancer awareness and encouraging early detection to protect thousands of women.

SAMS Syria’s participation reflects its commitment to health education, prevention, and the power of sport in building a stronger, healthier, and more informed society.

As part of World Diabetes Day activities, SAMS, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health in Latakia, Syria, raised awareness about diabetes, its prevention, and management. The team hosted educational workshops, conducted blood sugar screenings, and provided 64 patients with glucose meters and one year’s worth of supplies.

World Diabetes Day: SAMS Jordan supports Al-Baqa’a Camp with screenings, awareness & healthy habits for a brighter future.

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, SAMS Jordan, in collaboration with the Musanada Association, organized an awareness event at Al-Baqa’a Camp to promote diabetes prevention and management.

SAMS medical team conducted an educational workshop and offered vision and dental screenings, emphasizing the relation between diabetes and both oral and eye health. Following the screenings, participants received toothbrushes and toothpaste to encourage proper oral hygiene.

The event was attended by representatives from the local community, the Directorate of Social Development in Ain Al-Basha, and Anera — SAMS’ healthcare partner in Jordan.

Through such initiatives, SAMS Jordan reaffirms its commitment to advancing health awareness and supporting communities — working together for a healthier and more hopeful future for all.

Due to the pressing need for medical services and the lack of primary healthcare centers in the Salma area in rural Latakia, SAMS has provided a mobile clinic to serve the local community and surrounding areas.

This initiative seeks to enhance access to essential healthcare services and alleviate the suffering of residents by providing medical consultations, diagnostic services, treatment, and free medications, while also ensuring the referral of cases requiring specialized care to nearby medical facilities.

The project reflects SAMS’s ongoing commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in underserved regions and ensuring equitable access to medical services for all segments of the population, particularly those with chronic conditions, as well as children and women.
