New in Nursing Education Perspectives: Dr. Yolanda VanRiel shares her first message as NLN Chair on "The Challenges We Face" in nursing education:

"Let us never lose sight of why we do the work we do. Nursing is about people. It is about caring for others in their most vulnerable moments. It is about teaching the next generation not just the science but the art of healing. Our charge, as educators and as leaders, is to ensure that no matter how the landscape shifts, we remain steadfast in protecting the human connection at the heart of nursing."

On Veterans Day, we express our deepest gratitude and respect for veterans who have also dedicated their lives to nursing and especially nursing education.

These extraordinary individuals answered a dual call to serve — training future nurses to provide outstanding care and upholding the highest standards of military duty — and their special blend of military discipline and healing expertise shines in the classroom and clinical education spaces.

Thank you to all veteran nurses for your selfless commitment to teaching, healing, and service today and every day of the year.
