It’s the final week of our LEAD Fall 2025 Cohort, culminating with cohort members presenting their Capstone Projects!

These final group projects are a way for members to demonstrate their learnings and apply them to a real leadership challenge or opportunity inside their organization. These presentations demonstrate how LEAD tools and concepts show up in real decisions, real initiatives, and drive real results, turning leadership into action!

Check out a sneak peak into the Capstone Project of Fall 2025 LEAD Cohort members Farah Siddigui, Katie Huberdeau, and Bohua Fu who presented their project titled “Developing Leaders, Empowering Growth”, opening with a discussion about different leadership styles and how leaders could recognize which style was more appropriate for different situations. They touched on topics like:
➡️ How to get buy-in from your team
➡️ How to determine what motivates you as a leader
➡️ The importance of executive leadership setting the tone
➡️ How change is the only constant, and that leaders should be flexible

One of the highlights that interested other participants was a reading list for leadership development. There is more to come from our LEAD Capstone Presentations soon. If you or someone you know is interested in leveling up your leadership skills in the senior living industry, you can learn more and nominate them at https://hubs.ly/Q03YvPV70

Workforce challenges remain one of the most pressing issues facing senior living providers, which is why extending and strengthening the Work Opportunity Tax Credit matters. ⬇️

A broad coalition of employers, including Argentum, is urging Congress to protect this bipartisan program that helps providers hire and retain individuals who face barriers to employment, including veterans, people with disabilities, and those reentering the workforce. For senior living communities, WOTC is not just a tax credit. It is a practical tool that supports workforce stability, expands opportunity, and helps ensure residents receive consistent, high quality care.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit legislation (S. 3265/H.R. 6231) would extend and strengthen WOTC, helping employers expand access to meaningful work and build stronger, more resilient workforces.

Last week, President Trump signed an executive order to limit the ability of states to regulate the use of artificial intelligence. 💻

This executive order signals growing federal attention to how AI is developed, governed, and used across industries, including senior living. As communities explore AI to support staffing, operations, and resident care, clear guidance and thoughtful guardrails matter to ensure technology enhances human-centered care rather than replacing it.

This is a critical week that could shape the future of healthcare and senior living in Congress. 📢

Lawmakers are weighing key legislation that impacts workforce stability, access to care, and funding for programs older adults rely on, making this moment especially important for senior living providers and the residents they serve. Decisions made now will influence how communities care for an aging population and support the caregivers who make that care possible.
