BOMA is on Capitol Hill advocating for our industry’s top legislative priority: reauthorization of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (H.R. 7128).

This week, alongside the Coalition to Insure Against Terrorism (CIAT), BOMA met with counsel to House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) to discuss bringing TRIA to the floor after it passed out of committee on a strong 51–2 vote.

Earlier this week, over 180 leaders from across the industry came together virtually for BOMA International’s Board of Governors Meeting — a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when our network aligns around a shared vision.

We proudly introduced our newest BOMA Life Members, celebrated key milestones from 2025, and shared updates on the financial and audit report for continued transparency and stewardship. Attendees also reviewed key strategic initiatives across advocacy, membership trends and building recognition program performance, and the latest education and training efforts with BOMI.

We also heard from the BAE Council and spotlighted a community service initiative, reinforcing that our impact extends well beyond our buildings.

Thank you to our CRE leaders who showed up, engaged, and continue to move our industry forward. The work we’re doing today is shaping the future of commercial real estate. 🏢🌎

When the future of ENERGY STAR was in doubt, BOMA acted. Through coalitions and direct lobbying, BOMA worked to educate Congress on the importance of a program used by 25% of commercial buildings nationwide. BOMA members wrote over 2,600 letters to Congress echoing support for the program. 🏢💡

Our hard work paid off when Congress passed and President Trump signed into law bipartisan legislation that provides ENERGY STAR with dedicated funding.
