National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities NACDD serves as the national voice of State and Territorial Councils on Developmental Disabilities.

We support Councils in implementing the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act and promoting the interests and rights of people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Project Impact Highlight: North Dakota

The Bridging Aging and Disabilities Network (BADN) project in North Dakota is helping older people with disabilities live with strong support.

To date, the project has:
- Translated help guides into Spanish, Swahili, and Ukrainian
- Put ads on TV to show Native American groups where to find help
- Made "Roadmaps" to show families exactly how to get services
- Used TV ads to tell people about a phone number they can call for help

- The Advocacy Partnership Project (Virtual Advocacy Days): Where people can talk directly to leaders about their lives.

So far, the project has:
- Developed new ways to teach workers at state agencies and Native American groups
- Reviewed all state plans to find where services for disabilities and aging can match up
- Started a program to help people learn how to pick the help they need
- Made a phone app to help families plan for the future

In 2025, NGCDD won four Emmy Awards for their movie called "Our World in Our Words." This film tells real stories from people with disabilities.
