Can you guess which volumes of the journal Nature in our stacks have their original binding?

If you guessed the two cloth-bound volumes, then you’re correct! Many of the volumes in this particular collection were rebound in leather, but we think there’s something quite charming about the original.

The New River Gorge Bridge is a steel arch marvel that spans 3,030 feet and stands 876 feet above the New River. It is considered the third-highest vehicular bridge in the United States and is one of the most photographed places in beautiful West Virginia.

When it opened 48 years ago, the bridge reduced a 40-minute drive down narrow mountain roads and across one of North America's oldest rivers to less than a minute. It quickly became an iconic symbol of the Mountain State.
