Every Veteran's Health Care Experience Matters to Our Team--
At DC VAMC, your care experience is measured by the feedback you share when completing a Survey of Healthcare Experiences of Patients (SHEP). You may receive the voluntary survey via email or postal mail following an inpatient stay or outpatient appointment at the DC VA Medical Center or a VA CBOC.

Your feedback is important and helps us to improve. If you receive a SHEP, please complete and submit the survey. Also, if you have had a positive experience or have concerns about a recent appointment at a DC VAMC facility, please call the Office of Patient Experience and Advocacy, 202-745-8588.

Invest In Your Health, Prevent Cervical Cancer

During Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, your DC VA Medical Center's Women's Health Team encourages cancer prevention through regular Pap and human papilloma virus (HPV) screenings as well as considering HPV vaccination.

Since HPV is the most common cause of cervical cancer, early detection is important because it improves outcomes. Women’s Health Physician Emily V. Capbarat, PhD, reminds women Veterans that cervical health is important. Dr. Capbarat, who operates a well-women’s clinic weekly at the DC VA Medical Center, encourages you to contact your provider to discuss and schedule your next cervical cancer screening at the appropriate time. Also, speak with your provider to see if the HPV Gardasil vaccine is good for you.

Veterans in the DC-area may schedule and appointment by calling 202-745-8577.
