When a child loses someone they love, they don’t stop being a kid. 💙
They still need to play, laugh, and feel understood.

At Camp Forget-Me-Not / Camp Erin DC, children and teens (ages 6–17) have a place to be fully themselves—processing grief through art, activities, and honest conversation, while remembering that joy and grief can exist side by side.

It’s a day of classic camp fun woven together with grief support groups led by trained counselors and therapists. Campers connect with peers and volunteers who truly get it. Families and caregivers take part too, because grief touches everyone.

Thanks to Daniel’s incredible support, $10,000 was raised to help us develop a new curriculum for teens navigating the loss of a loved one to su***de. This work will directly support young people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives and we couldn’t do it without partners who believe in healing, resilience, and hope.

✨ Thank You, Barb Schmidt! ✨

We are so grateful to Barb Schmidt for her incredibly generous donation of 100 copies of Dear Friend: Daily Notes for Contemplation, Connection, and Clarity to support our work and those we serve. 📚💛

Written by Michelle Maros, founder of Peaceful Mind Peaceful Life, this beautiful book offers daily reflections that encourage connection, contemplation, and clarity — perfect for anyone on a journey of healing and self‑care.

Barb’s donation helped us share meaningful resources with attendees at our 2025 Anniversary Benefit and with members of our community who are navigating loss, grief, and life’s challenges. Your kindness supports emotional well‑being and resonates with our mission to help people rebuild their emotional lives after loss and trauma.

Thank you, Barb, for your thoughtful support and for helping us spread hope and healing!

✨ A 2025 Highlight We’re Proud to Share ✨

One of the most meaningful moments of 2025 was celebrating the Wendt Center’s 50th Anniversary Benefit on November 5, 2025.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended, donated, and supported this milestone event. Your generosity—through attendance, auction participation, and contributions—continues to make our life-changing programs possible for individuals and families navigating loss and trauma.

Special thanks to Board President Kate Manning, emcee David Gregory, and our incredible speakers, Alexandra Reeve Givens and Lisa Schneiderman, for helping make the evening so impactful.

We’re honored to share these highlights and grateful for the community that makes this work possible.
