ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENTS

Letter from the Acus Team

In the past five months, the world as we know it has changed dramatically. Doctors, nurses, and first responders have been thrust onto the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The military physicians we teach are no strangers to the frontlines. They care for those who serve both at home and while deployed overseas. Their training in Acus medical acupuncture has been indispensable in helping to manage the pain and stress of our nation’s veterans and active-duty military.

Acus Preceptor, Dr. Ali Safayan, discusses medical acupuncture treatment options with our students.

While acupuncture is often associated with pain control, in the hands of a well-trained practitioner it has much broader applications, Either on its own or in combination with other treatments, it can promote health and well-being, prevent illness, and treat a variety of medical conditions. The World Health Organization (WHO) recognized the use of acupuncture in treating disorders including digestive, respiratory, neurological and muscular.
Acupuncture has been found to be particularly useful in resolving physical problems related to tension, stress and emotional conditions.

In an allergic person, the allergic substance is perceived by the body as a threat to its well-being. When contact is made with an allergen, it causes obstruction (swelling), disrupting the normal flow of energy through the body. This obstruction begins the chain of events (immune response) that develop into an allergic response. NAET can reprogram the autonomic nervous system (desensitization) thus removing the energetic obstructions and significantly decreasing or eliminating the allergy. Each allergen requires one NAET session to be treated and cleared.

NAET in progress! natural, painless and non-invasive allergy elimination therapy called Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET), developed in 1983 by Devi Nambudripad, MD, DC, LAc, PhD, a California-based physician. We find that many disorders — such as coughs, digestive complaints, headaches, back aches, joint pain, cravings, PMS and others — stem from undiagnosed allergies. When conventional methods fail to provide relief we frequently recommend NAET to our patients, who experience significant benefits.

The word inflammation generally carries a negative connotation. However, there is both bad and good inflammation. Bad inflammation is the hallmark of the diseases that affect mankind including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis and cancer. On the other hand, good inflammation involves regeneration and repair, which is mediated by a number of different factors found in human blood and tissues. Prolotherapy mobilizes these regenerative mediators and initiates the repair process
