When rest is resistance…✨

This weekend, we partnered with & to pour back into our mamas with a much-needed wellness experience here in the DMV.

Beyond Superwoman was designed as a soft place, a moment to slow down, connect, and breathe. From restorative yoga and sound baths to a curated matcha experience by , the afternoon centered joy, healing, and community.

Thank you to every mama who showed up, exhaled, and allowed us to hold space for you. We’re grateful for the chance to celebrate YOU and your wholeness—not just your strength.💜

Community care in action! 💜

Special thanks to Howard University’s Big Sister Little Sister and American University’s Sister Sister. Together, we helped to assemble 157 period & hygiene kits for women supported by N Street Village.

We’re proud to support and partner with young leaders creating change through mentorship, sisterhood, and service.

Thank you & for inviting us to be part of this moment!

Last Friday, our Village came together to shower our Community Birth Worker Coordinator, Dionne, and her beautiful baby boy, Seru, with love and care. 💛

Dionne is always nourishing the birthing families she serves, so we wanted to return that same TLC she so freely gives to others.

At Mamatoto Village, we honor every part of the motherhood journey—from caring for others to allowing yourself to be cared for.

Join us in celebrating Dionne and this new chapter! ✨

This past weekend, we showed up and showed out at Black on the Block! 🙌🏾

We connected with the community, shared resources on Black maternal health, hosted swaddle contests & trivia to test everyone’s perinatal health knowledge.

Our new candles were a hit! Through your donations, we raised over $500 to support our year-round programs serving families across the DMV.

The love was real, and we loved seeing every single one of you!

Missed it? Don’t worry! We have more opportunities to connect in November! Join us at Meet the Village on November 7th (5-7pm) and Bring Your Friend for A Cause Brunch on November 16th (11-1pm). It’s your chance to connect with our team, learn about our work supporting Black birthing people and families, and find out how you can get involved.

We’re still feeling the energy from the Can We Talk? Arts and Wellness Summit! ✨

We spent surrounded by community—connecting with inspiring mental health professionals, soaking up powerful conversations, and exploring how art and wellness can help us heal.💜

We left inspired to transform pain into creativity and to keep leaning on practices that nourish our mental health every day.

Thank you for creating such a beautiful space to uplift mental health in our communities.
