(SCA) can happen to anyone, but understanding it could save a life. Here’s what to know:

❤️ What's SCA: A sudden electrical malfunction in the heart — NOT the same as a heart attack.

⚡Cause: Most often due to an abnormal rhythm called ventricular fibrillation (VF).

👥 Who’s at Risk: People with heart disease, past heart attacks, or a low ejection fraction (how well the heart pumps blood).

🚨 Warning Signs: May occur in active, healthy people — it’s not always predictable.

🩺 Prevention: Live heart-healthy — stay active, eat well, manage blood pressure and cholesterol, and talk to your doctor about screening or implantable devices if you’re at risk.

💪 In an Emergency: Quick action saves lives — wCPR and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival during SCA.
