Wishing everyone a Happy New Year! Real talk: 2025 was a great year for the Leontios family and Lion. After burning the candle at both ends for several years, I took some time to step back and spend more time on my personal health. I know in my bones that I am at my best when I do not consume social media, hence why there was very little posting from Lion this past year. That being said I know that informational content is helpful and important to our followers, so one of the goals for Lion in 2026 is to provide more and consistent educational content throughout the year. Happy 3rd Birthday Lion! Posting a day late because we took some time just to celebrate last night. Being able to provide my clients with the care they deserve while still getting to be present for these 3 was the goal for starting this business. Can’t believe it has already been 3 years. We had a great time at the MS Walk Peoria this last Saturday. Thank you again to all our friends and clients that supported our team! The kids have asked if we can do this every year so look for us next year and we would love to grow the team and provide more support to find a cure for MS.

As always I am so grateful for my wonderful clients. Because of their patronage during our month of giving, Lion was able to donate $523 to the Walk MS event that is taking place in Peoria on May 17th.

In search of a part-time Physical Therapist to join my team! This position is perfect for some who:

-loves to build relationships with their clients/patients
-loves having ample time to plan high quality, evidence-based treatment sessions
-loves being able to plan their job around their family/personal life

Requirements:
-Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of IL
-3 years clinical experience
-ability to drive self to client/patient appointments
-a passion for helping others

Preferred:
-5 or more years of experience
-specialization in Ortho or Neuro rehab
-experience with weight-training and fitness enhancement

My kids helped me test out Lion’s new Blaze Pods! Dynamic balance training combined with a cognitive dual task are great ways to exercise your body and your brain. Here my son is working on anticipatory and reactive postural adjustments which are key to fall prevention for adults. Looking forward to adding these fun tools to my client sessions!

In his book, Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell theorized that anyone can become an expert in any subject matter or skill if they purposefully practice that skill for 10,000 hours. What if we applied that same thought process to movement? How easy would that movement be to complete if we practiced it 10,000 times? Neurological Rehabilitation Research shows again and again that patients do not get enough reps in the clinic alone to facilitate optimal recovery. It is essential for neuro patients to practice the skills they learn in the clinic outside of their therapy time to gain full mastery. So I ask again, where would you be if you practiced that skill or movement 10,000 or even 5,000 times? 1,000 times? 200 times before you stopped trying?
