I am currently reading "Never Get Angry Again" by David Lieberman. He quotes Mark Twain, "Comedy is tragedy plus time." He goes on to say, "When we discover how to shift our perspective, we see today's events through the wiser, more balanced lens of tomorrow. Once we can recognize-in the moment-what really matters, we no longer need to force ourselves to remain calm. Our thoughts, feelings, and responses to any situation reshape themselves. Negative emotions like impatience, insecurity, and anger dissolve-not because we fight to control our emotions but, rather, because we see the situation for what it really is."

When we experience stress, we often emotionally eat. We seek comfort for the stress in forms that are easily accessible to us, like food... indulgent food! We are not eating for pleasure or hunger, rather, we are eating to try to fill a void.

What if were able to take Dr. Lieberman's advice and find perspective? What if instead of responding to stress, we were able to view the situation from a lens of time and never feel stressed to begin with?

Today's mission is to find perspective. Scroll through the contacts of your phone and find someone you have spoken to in a while, someone with a shared experience that brought you joy, that you now realize also brought you perspective, and call them! They will be happy to hear from you, and you will feel better to have called!

Good morning everyone! I am overjoyed to be making the first post in what I hope to become a community resource page to promote healthy lifestyles. I am asking everyone with a positive message and great advice to share their knowledge with all.

Today, I want to talk about activity. As we enter the months less hospitable to exercising outside, I hope we can all find ways to be as active as possible. Studies have shown that 30 minutes per day of activity dedicated to just exercise, in addition to your normal chores or work, aids in improving mental clarity, energy, and improved health. However, with our busy lifestyles and current pandemic, it is difficult to find time to go to gym or meet with our usual exercise groups. Exercise is still beneficial when broken down into as small as 10 minute increments. Just 10 minutes at a time is effective! Schedule that time! Put it on your calendar, invite your kids to join along and make it a family activity. Add 10 minutes after breakfast or when the kids need a break from their virtual or hybrid learning. Add 10 minutes during the doldrums of the afternoon. Many have heard my recommendation for using Johnson and Johnson's 7 Minute Workout App. It is completely free, is not advertisement supported, and has a very simple and clear interface. It is so simple to create a customized 10 minute workout that fits your body. A link can be found here (but of course its available in both Google and Apple Application stores for free).

Make every minute count with the Johnson & Johnson Official 7 Minute Workout. With only your body weight, a wall and a chair you can have a fun, effective workout anywhere.
