Universal Human Rights Month highlights the importance of supporting personal choice.

At PathWays, we prioritize each person’s right to make decisions about their life, whether those decisions involve daily routines, community activities, or long-term goals. Encouraging choice helps people build confidence, independence, and a sense of ownership in their lives.

Throughout December, we recognize the value of listening to each person’s preferences and ensuring their voice guides the support they receive.

Tell any families who may need this to check out this Pediatric Extended Care Center (prescribed and covered by insurances).

December is Universal Human Rights Month, a reminder that every person deserves dignity, respect, safety, and the opportunity to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.

At PathWays, we believe these are not “special rights” for people with intellectual disabilities or autism; they are basic human rights.

Every day, our teams work to ensure that the individuals we support have the freedom to make choices, be included, speak for themselves, and be treated with fairness and kindness.

This month, and always, we recommit to honoring these rights in every interaction.

💙STAFF SPOTLIGHT: This month, we’re celebrating Amy’s 7-year work anniversary and the incredible journey she’s had at PathWays. Amy began as a DSP and steadily grew through roles including Residential Program Manager, Residential Assistant Director, and Adult Training Facility Assistant Director. She later brought her frontline experience to the HR team, first as a Recruiter, and now as our HR Manager. She is usually the very first person applicants and new hires meet.
Amy’s deep understanding of the responsibilities and challenges of direct care roles makes her an invaluable leader in recruiting, supporting, and retaining staff who make a difference every day. Thank you, Amy, for your dedication, insight, and heart! 💙

Our Annual Turkey Dinner Box Giveaway was a wonderful success! Thanks to the generosity of our community and partners, we distributed 100 turkeys, along with bags of grocery items to help create some classic Thanksgiving dishes, to families in Greene and Washington County. We’re grateful to everyone who helped make the holiday season brighter for our neighbors.

A special thank you to our sponsors that were able to assist with grant funds and donated funds, the NiSource Foundation and the PathWays Foundation for Fulfillment, and to our local partners that were able to donate food: Shop N Save (Store 1620), Landesberg Design, Prequel Solutions, Ethical Intruder, P Green Design, Woodhouse Auto Body, and David Davis Communications.

A special shout-out to the stranger who stepped up at Shop 'N Save to help us transport turkeys in his truck when we ran out of room in our cars. His kindness made all the difference and truly represents the spirit of community support. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and showed up. Together, we made a meaningful impact!
