This is a blast from the past ( about 1982 or so ). It even has my old Kawasaki 750 in it.

So many enhancements to our building since those years it’s hardly recognizable.

Our building was built in the early 1900’s and my father purchased it in 1961 after renting for a short while.

Little did he know back then he was starting what would become the funeral home in the area to be trusted by more families than any other local funeral home.

We’ve been blessed to be trusted by approximately 15,000 families and expanding each and every year.

This year will be the same as we strive to find better ways to serve our community and the grieving families within it.

Thank you for your continued trust,
Michael

I must admit, I am off my game this Christmas Season. I didn’t decorate Sherrie’s and other family members graves until last week which is pretty late for me.

It’s interesting how reactions to your grief can come and go throughout your life and it’s perfectly normal.

In a few short weeks I will be married again after 7 years of being a widower.

I was not looking for anyone it just kind of happened. I was growing content with just being single the rest of my life and it was going to be just fine.

As I look back now I see how truly blessed I am to have another love in my life. Not everyone is as fortunate sadly but don’t ever think you need someone else just because others try to force it upon you. You and only you will ever know if it’s right.

Angie, my future wife helps me celebrate Sherrie and our life together.

I always tell her she gets to benefit from all the training I got from Sherrie and I being married 🤓.

Honestly, I am such a better man and person thanks to my life with her both before her death and after.

I have learned to heal but not forget. Every day I think of Sherrie and include her memories in conversations all the time. This for me has been the healthiest step in my grief journey.

If you struggle learning to live your life without your person who has died, I encourage you to talk about them to those around you, no matter how uncomfortable it makes them. If that’s not an option find a support group and connect with those in similar situations as you. Talk to them, share and start to heal slowly.

My wish for you today is that eventually the joy and happiness you feel when thinking about your loved one overpowers the sadness and void in your life.

I will celebrate Sherrie and be grateful for everything we shared, good and bad for the rest of my life and I’ll never hide that from anyone.

Peace, Strength and Love,
Michael

I clearly and fondly remember family dinner at my grandparents farm on Thanksgiving as a child.

All of my cousins, aunts & uncles and whomever else would show up. When really young we would get the card table seat in the living room because the dining room table was full of adults.

As I look back, I can’t imagine preparing such a meal for such a large group. My grandparents were not wealthy but everyone was happy and taken care of.

Think back, do you have any similar memories of simpler times in your youth ?

I wish for many Blessings upon you and your family today and every day.

We are all privileged to live in our wonderful community and actually know one another. Imagine big city living in which you barely know anyone in contrast to driving down the street here and waving to many you worked with or grew up with. The comfort of community is a powerful Blessing in itself. It can help you through difficult loss, I know it has for me throughout my lifetime.

Wishing you Peace and Comfort this Thanksgiving.

Michael

Thank you again to the amazing community that continues to trust us.

Only a few of our team members could make the event this year but please don’t misunderstand that as a lack of appreciation.

We love our community and pledge to continue improving to better serve your needs.

Thank you,
Michael & everyone here at the Funeral Home
