HypnoBirthing® - The Mongan Method - is a unique method of relaxed, natural childbirth education, enhanced by self-hypnosis techniques. HypnoBirthing® provides the missing link that allows women to use their natural instincts to bring about a safer, easier, more comfortable birthing. Emphasis is placed on pregnancy and childbirth, as well as on pre-birth parenting and the consciousness of the pre-born baby. As a birthing method, HypnoBirthing® is as new as tomorrow and as old as ancient times. (hypnobirthing.com)

As educators and birth professionals, we return again and again to the foundational principles that guide the work we share with families around the world:

• Birth is inherently normal and healthy in the absence of special circumstances — a truth we continue to reinforce through education, language, and mindset.
• The instinctive rhythm of birth unfolds best when undisturbed, reminding us of the importance of protecting calm, quiet, and autonomy for every birthing person.
• Every pregnancy and every labor has its own natural timeline, and our role is to support this individualized flow without rushing or imposing unnecessary intervention.

As alumni of the HypnoBirthing Institute, we carry these teachings into each class, each conversation, and each birth space we support.

Together, we uphold a philosophy that honors physiology, empowers parents, and keeps compassion at the center of care.

It’s really sad! I see it every time I attend a Birth. Doubt, frustration, fear all setting in to mom &birth companion. decisions being made based on the monitoring.

Can Birth happen without monitoring? Well, that’s a good question, isn’t it? Indeed it can and does, and often times it should!

when interventions are offered, the questions should be, with good answers “ what’s the risk? What’s the benefit? What if we wait? What else could we do? What does your gut say?”

These are necessary questions to avoid unnecessary interventions.

Round-the-clock fetal monitoring leads to unnecessary C-sections. But it’s used in nearly every birth because of business and legal concerns, The Times found.

I was just talking about this in class yesterday. Take a look about that ointment that they put on Babies’ eyes after they are born. Informed decisions are the best decisions!

💥Erythromycin Eye Ointment💥
Truth bomb time!
💣Erythromycin is an antibacterial eye ointment applied within a couple hours after birth to prevent ophthalmia neonatorum (aka pink eye) in your baby's 1st month of life.
💣The ointment became standard protocol due to pink eye becoming more serious and causing possible blindness if caused by Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, which the baby could only *possibly* be exposed to IF the mother is infected at the time of birth and IF the birth was vaginal.
💣The other bacteria that can cause pink eye are not considered as serious.
💣Using colostrum/breastmilk after birth instead has been shown to reduce and inhibit growth of these bacteria.
💣Because this is an antibiotic ointment, it can disrupt the baby's gut microbiome and promote antibiotic resistance from overuse.
💣Infant-maternal bonding can be interrupted due to the ointment causing blurry vision, problems nursing, and possible separation from the mother during administration.
💣It can also cause irritability in baby's eyes, clogged ducts, chemical conjunctivitis (pink eye), and has a possibility of an allergic reaction.
💣You can reasonably decline the ointment if you test negative for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, you are in a relationship with a non infected partner, if you're having a C-section (since it is highly unlikely for a baby to be exposed to these, especially if your membranes are still intact), or simply because you want to.
💣Even if you are positive, there are other options for treating and preventing pink eye. Some moms choose to use the 'wait and see' approach to see if the baby even develops pink eye before deciding if treatment is necessary.

You have options.
