Through a heightened state of relaxation, the brain is able to send and receive signals that are usually disrupted by stress and overstimulation from everyday living. Safe for children and adults, a Blu Room session consists of lying fully clothed on a couch surrounded by UVB lights for 20 minutes. The Blu Room has been said by its users to help decrease pain, offer a sense of calm and mental peace (quiet the constant chatter), and promote a faster healing process. In addition to a vitamin D boost, a session is thought to trigger the release of endorphins reducing the effects of stress, boosting the immune system and promoting a general sense of well being. Hello. I’m Chickweed. Sorry for "taking over" the bare spots in your garden bed this March.

You want to pull me up, but I’m a "pioneer plant." I grow fast in cold weather to protect your soil from erosion and heavy spring rains. I’m basically a living "skin" for the earth.

I am a high-protein food source for songbirds in the early spring.

I’m also 100% edible and delicious for humans—I taste like corn on the cob! I’m full of vitamins when nothing else is growing. I’m your backyard’s first "superfood" of the year.

What to do:
Eat me! Or just leave me until you’re ready to plant your tomatoes. I’ll keep the soil damp and fertile until then. When you pull me, just throw me back on the soil as green mulch.

I’m sorry I’m "everywhere."
But your soil and the birds are healthy because of me.

Ladies… let's talk about affection for a minute.

Ladies,

Have you ever found yourself feeling…

Frustrated
Mad
Disappointed
Annoyed
Irritated
Or maybe even a little bitter…

Because your husband or partner isn’t showing you enough affection?

Maybe he doesn't compliment you as much as you'd like.

Maybe he doesn't express his emotions the way you'd hoped.

Or maybe he just doesn't seem as romantic as you'd prefer.

I get it.

We all enjoy affection, recognition, and appreciation.

But here's something worth considering.

For many men, expressing emotions doesn't come naturally.

Not because they don't enjoy affection…
Not because they don't appreciate connection…

But because emotional expression simply isn't their natural operating system.

And interestingly enough, the same thing can happen in reverse.

Women who have leaned heavily into masculine energy over time sometimes find it harder to express emotional warmth and affection too.

Not because they don't enjoy it.

But because it no longer comes as easily.

Here's why.

Masculine and feminine energy operate differently.

The feminine tends to be naturally emotional, expressive, nurturing, and relational.

The masculine tends to be naturally protective, action-oriented, logical, and grounded.

Both are powerful.

Both are necessary.

And both bring incredible value to a relationship.

But problems start to show up when we expect someone to operate naturally in an energy that isn't their default.

Let me give you an example.

If you have what I call a ā€œmanly manā€ā€¦

Ask him to give up building things, fixing things, protecting people, working with his hands, or getting dirty.

My guess?

He'd rather die.

Because that's who he is.

That's where he feels useful.
That's where he feels capable.
That's where he feels alive.

Now flip that around.

What if your husband asked you to stop being nurturing?

Stop being compassionate.

Stop being soft.

Stop being emotional.

Stop caring so deeply.

How easy would that be?

Probably not very.

Because those qualities are part of the feminine superpower.

And here's the exciting part many people overlook.

Women often have far more influence over the emotional tone of a relationship than they realize.

If you're feeling like your partner isn't giving you enough affection…

Try something different.

Instead of waiting for him to initiate it…

Give it first.

Show affection.

Offer appreciation.

Compliment him.

Touch his arm.

Lean into him.

Smile at him.

These things come naturally to the feminine.

They're part of your superpower.

And here's what usually happens when that energy shows up.

Men respond to it.

Not always with perfect words.

But often with presence.

With protection.

With loyalty.

With effort.

This isn't about a power struggle.

It shouldn't be.

It's about recognizing the natural strengths each person brings to the relationship.

Your husband has superpowers too.

When something breaks in the house…

Let him fix it.

When something needs built…

Let him build it.

When something needs protecting…

Let him step into that role.

And yes… I can already hear some of you saying:

"But women want romance."

Of course you do.

And that's absolutely possible.

Just remember…

Romance still lives in the emotional world.

And emotional expression tends to be where feminine energy thrives.

Which means you may actually be the best one to activate it.

Here's something else worth thinking about.

Instead of focusing on the things your partner isn't doing naturally…

What if you focused more on the strengths they do bring naturally?

That simple shift can remove a lot of frustration from relationships.

For example…

I don't expect Sara to weld something.

Or build something.

Or fix something mechanical.

Of course she could learn those things.

But is that really the best use of her gifts?

I'd much rather she stay in her natural kindness, warmth, and feminine strength.

And in return…

I stay in my masculine strengths.

That's where relationships often work best.

Of course we can all grow.

Of course we can improve.

But sometimes the healthiest move is simply allowing each other to be who we naturally are.

So the next time you're wishing your husband showed you more affection…

Try stepping into your feminine superpower first.

Show him some.

You might be surprised what happens next.

Or…

You can continue the power struggle.

Ignore the natural dynamics between masculine and feminine energy.

And keep feeling frustrated.

That seems like a great strategy too. šŸ˜

We all have superpowers.

Let's use them to make relationships stronger.

Not harder.
