Through a heightened state of relaxation, the brain is able to send and receive signals that are usually disrupted by stress and overstimulation from everyday living. Safe for children and adults, a Blu Room session consists of lying fully clothed on a couch surrounded by UVB lights for 20 minutes. The Blu Room has been said by its users to help decrease pain, offer a sense of calm and mental peace (quiet the constant chatter), and promote a faster healing process. In addition to a vitamin D boost, a session is thought to trigger the release of endorphins reducing the effects of stress, boosting the immune system and promoting a general sense of well being. To inspire you to trust in your own body's innate wisdom in healing. We are here to encourage you to be open to all possibilities. When you believe...it becomes possible. What you imagine...will manifest in your life. Thoughts and words have real power. Your body is listening to every thing you think and say. From the faith of a mustard seed, comes the power to move mountains.

What Are We Teaching the Next Generation About Love?

What if the problem isn’t that love is missing…

What if the problem is that we’ve been taught to look for it in only one way?

As adults, we are the blueprint.

What we notice, normalize, and embody becomes the lesson—whether we intend it or not.

So here’s the uncomfortable (and powerful) question:

If we aren’t consciously noticing all the ways love shows up… how do we expect our kids to?

Most of us inherited a very narrow definition of love—handed down from parents who learned it from parents who learned it from theirs. And somewhere along the way, infinite love got boxed into a few acceptable forms.

But love is infinite.
So why are we treating it like it’sscarce?

Yes—Gary Chapman’s Five Love Languages gave us a helpful starting point (Words, Acts of Service, Gifts, Time, Touch). It cracked open an important door.

But let’s be honest—if love truly only existed in five neat categories, relationships would be a LOT easier by now.

Here’s what we’ve noticed recently in our own lives:

Someone felt unloved. Disrespected. Forgotten.
And yet—love was being shown. Constantly. Just not in the exact way they expected.

Their pain was real.
But so was the love they were missing.

And that moment held up a mirror for us too:
Where have we overlooked love because it didn’t match our expectations?
Where has our love gone unseen because it didn’t look “right” to someone else?
Where are we—consciously or unconsciously—limiting love?

Because when adults limit love, we teach the next generation something dangerous:
If love doesn’t show up the way I expect it, then I must not be loved.

That’s not wisdom.
That’s conditioning.

Here’s the reframe (and the invitation):
Love is infinite. Which means it shows up in infinite ways—inside and beyond the five languages.

You’re still allowed to want love expressed in ways that matter to you.

And others are still allowed to love you in ways that feel natural to them.

Both can be true.
Grace is the bridge.

When you expand your awareness, something wild happens:
You start seeing how loved you already are.

And you may even feel called to apologize—to yourself or someone else—for questioning their love in the first place. 😉

Do this work now—not just for you, but for the younger generation watching you.

It’s one of the most powerful (and loving) gifts you can give.

Because love was never the problem.

Our perception was.

Hello Blu Room Family,

Quick side note before we get serious for half a second…

Lady Gaga has her Little Monsters.
And here we are… wildly underrated and still unnamed.

My brain is already working overtime on this very important mission. 😊

Feel free to start sending your ideas—we may or may not turn the winning name into shirts. Epic ones. Obviously.

Okay… back to business (but still fun).

With winter weather and snow in the forecast for the Washington, MO area this weekend, we wanted to remind you of something we offer that most wellness centers don’t:

The Blu Room Express 🚐

If you have an appointment during harsh winter weather and still want to keep it—but would rather not test your luck on icy roads—reach out to us.

Just like last snowfall, we’ll do our best to:

• Pick you up
• Bring you safely to the Blu Room Wellness Center
• Get you home warm, calm, and regulated

Your health and wellbeing don’t need to take a snow day.

Now…
Donuts and drifting through empty parking lots are an optional add-on.

Highly encouraged.
Strictly for your nervous system, of course. 😉

This day retreat is an invitation to slow down and spend time with yourself without needing to improve, fix, or figure anything out.

Many people are noticing that familiar reference points feel quieter right now — less certainty, fewer external signals, a sense of moving without clear direction. This gathering offers space to rest inside that quiet and gently reconnect with inner sensing.

Rather than teaching or guiding, the day is held as a series of simple, experiential invitations: breath, stillness, gentle movement, fire-side, time on the land, and moments of quiet connection. Nothing is required. Participation is always by choice. If at any point you feel the need to speak something out loud, you’re welcome to find me. I’m happy to listen. No fixing, no feedback- just space.

You are welcome to bring all of yourself — clarity or confusion, restlessness or calm. Different parts of you are allowed to have a seat without needing to be managed.

A pot of soup and hot tea will be available throughout the day. You’re encouraged to bring additional food or drinks that best support your body. There will be a relaxed lunch window for eating, resting, or connecting as feels natural.

Silence is welcome. Conversation is welcome. There is no expectation to share and no pressure to stay quiet.

There is no formal closing. When you feel complete, you’re free to leave quietly.
