Amy Norbom, LMBT, MMP, NCBTMB
Amy Norbom is a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist in both North Carolina and Washington state. She has been Nationally Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB), since 2005. In addition, Amy has held her Medical Massage Practitioner Certification (MMP); and maintained her certified membership with the Association for American Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP), since 2006.
Amy was formally trained at the highly accredited Bellevue Massage School & Holistic Arts, in Seattle, WA. She went on to own and operate, a successful Day Spa on San Juan Island, in Washington state. It is the islands that will always hold a special place in her heart, as this is where she grew up and still maintains friendships, today.
She would later take to the sea, being based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and New York. It is here that she provided massage, both to the owners and guests onboard their private luxury yachts. Her travels have been extensive both privately and aboard the yachts including the Western & Eastern seaboards of the US, Canada, Bahamas, Caribbean, Puerto Rico, Turks & Caicos, Mexico, Europe, and the Mediterranean. It is with her travels, that has provided for her a wealth of cultural experiences, exposure to resort spas and various healing modalities.
She is proficient in various massage modalities; in achieving the best possible health outcome for the client. Her massage style incorporates many techniques and massage modalities, including: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Reflexology, Massage Cupping, and Orthopedic/Medical Massage. It is treatment massage that she finds most rewarding; in the challenges it presents and the positive effects that Therapeutic Massage has on the body and mind.
