🦷 It’s Pet Dental Health Month! 🦷

Dental disease is one of the most common (and overlooked) issues in dogs and cats. By age three, most pets already have dental disease—even if they’re still eating normally. Bad breath, tartar, and red gums can mean pain and infection hiding below the surface.

Healthy teeth support a healthy heart, kidneys, and liver. February is the perfect time to focus on your pet’s smile—ask us about dental exams, cleanings, and at-home care options.

Many of us got tattoos with her, and Cheryl got a special tribute to Harold, who she loves dearly and is taking with her wherever she goes.

With full hearts, we share that our beloved receptionist, Cheryl, will be leaving our clinic to spend time with and care for her parents. Cheryl has been a constant source of kindness and compassion for our clients and a true cornerstone of our team. She will be deeply missed. We are so grateful for all she has given to our clinic family and wish her and her loved ones comfort and strength during this time.

I’m begging you… please, please, please use a carrier.
Your cat isn’t being “dramatic” … they’re scared. Training the carrier before it’s needed keeps them safer and less stressed when it matters most.

This closure is atypical for us, so we wanted to be sure everyone has time to plan ahead. Please make sure your pet’s food, medications, and other essentials are taken care of before the holiday.

If your pet needs urgent or emergency care during this time, the Tri-County Animal Emergency Clinic will be open and available.

🐾 Patient Spotlight: Delilah 🐾

We want to give a huge shout-out to Delilah and her dedicated owners for an incredible accomplishment! By closely following our recommended diet change and weight-loss plan, Delilah has lost an amazing 6 pounds!!!! That’s a significant achievement for a cat.

To put that into perspective, this is roughly comparable to a 180 lb person losing about 45 pounds.

This kind of healthy weight loss does more than change the number on the scale. Reaching a healthier body condition can:
• Reduce stress on joints and improve mobility
• Decrease the risk of diabetes and other obesity-related diseases
• Improve energy levels and comfort
• Increase overall life expectancy and quality of life

Weight loss in cats takes time, consistency, and teamwork, and Delilah’s success is a perfect example of how powerful these changes can be. We are incredibly proud of Delilah and her owner for investing in her long-term health and happiness. 💙
