It’s Nursing Home Administrators Week, and in our (slightly biased😉) opinion, we have the very best! Since joining the UP Home in 2018, Kara has brought compassion, knowledge, and strong leadership to our campus. As our Nursing Home Administrator, she works tirelessly to ensure quality care while leading with empathy and integrity. Kara consistently goes above and beyond to support our residents, families, and staff, helping create a place where everyone feels valued, safe, and cared for. Thank you for all you do, Kara—we are so grateful for you! 💜

A heartfelt thank you to the Washington County Riverboat Foundation for their support and generosity in awarding a grant to help get our warm water therapy pool back up and running! With an updated system and thoughtful new enhancements, we are thrilled to reopen this valuable resource beginning on March 2nd!
We invite anyone interested to stop by our Wellness Center to learn more about our Aquatic Membership or talk with your doctor about a referral to Blue Stone Therapy for a more personalized program. We look forward to bringing this special and healing form of therapy back to the greater Washington community!

Today on National Caregivers Day, we celebrate and deeply appreciate all caregivers—those who lovingly care for family members at home and our dedicated employees who provide care daily on our campus 💙
Caregiving takes time, strength, and heart. Many caregivers balance their own health, families, and responsibilities while continuing to show up for others with compassion and patience. Whether supporting one person or many, at home or as a profession, caregivers make an immeasurable difference in the lives they touch.
Today, we say thank you to every caregiver for your dedication, kindness, and the care you give—seen and unseen. We are grateful for you. 💙

February in the 2026 Art Calendar shines with resident Nancy Alberts’ beautiful watercolor. Created a few years ago, her piece captures the feeling of cold and ice through simple reflections and soft shadows. Nancy was reminded that sometimes less really is more, and with a little patience, the painting seems to come together all on its own.
