Happy Easter! Christ is Risen! ✝️
The UP Home celebrated the holiday with a wonderful mix of joy, fellowship, and fun for all ages!
• Residents and Daycare were surprised with a special visit from the Easter Bunny—thank you to our amazing Activities Team and Washington State Bank for helping make it happen!
• Our exercise classes proved you’re never too old for an Easter egg hunt—especially when each egg comes with a fun movement to keep everyone active!
• Meaningful hymn sings and Good Friday and Easter services brought worship and praise as we celebrated Resurrection Sunday.
• And of course, our team joined in the fun with employee egg hunts featuring prizes from JT Sips, Lebowski’s, Dutch Market, and Triple M Nutrition!

Through all the festivities, we are reminded of the true meaning of Easter—the love and sacrifice of Christ. Celebrated through laughter, shared meals, fellowship, and faith, we are grateful for the many blessings that surround us each day. 🌷

On this Good Friday, we come together in reflection, gratitude, and faith. ✝️ Thank you to Andrew for leading such a meaningful Good Friday Service for our campus - it was a beautiful time to pause and remember the true meaning of the day. “He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” - 1 Peter 2:24
A gentle reminder of the hope we hold onto and the peace that carries us forward. 💛

We had a blast with today’s ‘Wet T-Shirt Contest’ — don’t worry, it was all in good fun! 😄 The name had a few residents doing a double take at first, but with a creative (and appropriate!) twist by our Activities Team, it quickly turned into lots of laughs and smiles— a perfect way to celebrate an April Fools’ Day surprise! 🎉

Happy National Doctors Day to Dr. Nacos! 🩺
The time, attention, and thoughtfulness he gives to each resident does not go unnoticed. Whether it’s listening a little longer, explaining things more clearly, or simply being present, Dr. Nacos brings a level of care that means so much to our campus.
Today we celebrate the difference he makes every day—thank you for being such an important part of our community!

Good times and sweet treats! Residents hopped on the bus last week for a trip to Rock Island to visit the Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse. They had a wonderful time watching—and singing along to— "H***y Tonk Angels", a lively musical celebrating female country stars and the story of three women chasing their dreams in Nashville. Paired with delicious treats, the day was filled with laughter, music, and high spirits from start to finish! 🎶

Last week, we officially celebrated the reopening of our warm water therapy pool alongside our UP Home Board Members and the Washington County Riverboat Foundation. It was a wonderful morning filled with great company and delicious treats, including scones, fresh fruit cups, and tropical punch prepared by our Dining Director!
As a campus, we are incredibly grateful for the support that made these updates possible and allowed us to reopen this valuable space for our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the celebration, and a special shoutout to Patty Koehler, Brandon Hamilton, and Zach Haworth for representing WCRF.
Both Blue Stone Therapy and our Wellness Center are now accepting new clients and members interested in utilizing the pool—contact the UP Home today to get started!

It’s Social Work Month, and we’re proud to recognize our exceptional social worker, Paula Brinning! 🌟
We recently had the opportunity to ask Paula more about the role she plays on our campus and her education. Her passion for senior living is evident in everything she does. She goes above and beyond to support our residents, their families, and our team—always willing to step in and help, no matter the task. With her compassionate approach, reassuring presence, and wealth of knowledge, Paula is a trusted resource for so many. She also brings fun and positivity to campus through employee appreciation—many know her as our “Prancer Paula”! We are so grateful for you, Paula. Thank you for all that you do each and every day! 💜

St. Patrick’s Day brought plenty of luck and laughter to campus with our second annual St. Paddy’s Day Crawl! 🍀
After a delicious, corned beef and cabbage lunch, residents and staff made their way through a variety of festive stations. Stations included ISpy, rainbow cookie crafts, guessing games, coin toss, Irish treats, and much more! These crawls are a wonderful way to explore every department, connect with one another, and sneak in a little extra exercise along the way! With Irish music filling the halls and smiles all around, it was a joyful celebration! 💚

It’s Nursing Home Administrators Week, and in our (slightly biased😉) opinion, we have the very best! Since joining the UP Home in 2018, Kara has brought compassion, knowledge, and strong leadership to our campus. As our Nursing Home Administrator, she works tirelessly to ensure quality care while leading with empathy and integrity. Kara consistently goes above and beyond to support our residents, families, and staff, helping create a place where everyone feels valued, safe, and cared for. Thank you for all you do, Kara—we are so grateful for you! 💜
