A 5-Star CMS Rating reflects the highest level of quality and care in nursing homes measured through health inspections, staffing, and overall outcomes. We are honored to share this achievement with our community. 🥳
The United Presbyterian Home celebrates the many hands behind this recognition. From our nursing team to dietary, housekeeping, maintenance, and administration, this milestone is a testament to the compassion, teamwork, and dedication shown each day.
While this rating is certainly cause for celebration, we remain committed to our mission as a campus—to provide this level of quality care each and every day. 🧡

Administrative Professionals Day gives us the perfect chance to recognize the friendly voices and helpful emails that keep our campus running smoothly! 🌟
These four are often your first point of contact, handling frontline communication with care, professionalism, and a personal touch. While the first photo captures their polished side, the rest show what we’re lucky to experience every day—a fun, supportive, and family-oriented team. Whether it’s a fencing demonstration or questions about finding your way around our facilities, they have you covered!
Erin, Tracy, Brandy, and Melissa go above and beyond, bringing positive energy to events, daily interactions, and everything in between. Join us in thanking them for the dedication and joy they bring to the UP Home!

A room full of dedicated, big-hearted, and generous volunteers! National Volunteer Month is just one small way to say thank you for the countless ways these individuals uplift our campus and the Washington community.
We were honored to welcome Deanna Delong as our brunch speaker. She shared her passion for giving back through her work with the Farmers Market, Main Street, the Earthly Blessings Board, and as a local business owner of LUX Suites.
While not everyone could join us for brunch, we celebrate and thank all of our volunteers who give their time and talents year-round. 👏🏼

A space to explore creativity—for both novice and experienced artists alike. 🎨
Our Art Studio, led by resident Nancy Albert, offers a place to clear your mind, connect with others, and open the door to endless possibilities. It’s a gathering of creative, supportive individuals growing their talents together.
In honor of World Art Day, we’re proud to highlight the many artists on our campus. While we could showcase so many beautiful pieces, we hope today inspires you to try something new—grow, dare, create, and express. Find beauty in all that each day brings. 💐☀️

What a fun and meaningful night in our community! ✨ This week, we had two teams represent the UP Home at the Washington Public Library’s Annual Spelling Bee. Proceeds from the event will support the library’s new PlayIT Place.
One of our teams took home 1st place—congratulations to residents Jean F., Jana N., Nancy A., June H., and Wellness Center member Susan F.! 🐝The other UP Home team—Jill G., Carol R., Marty Y., and Martha G.— earned an impressive 4th place finish!
Way to go, ladies! Thank you for supporting literacy, community, and a night full of fun. 💛

Happy Easter! Christ is Risen! ✝️
The UP Home celebrated the holiday with a wonderful mix of joy, fellowship, and fun for all ages!
• Residents and Daycare were surprised with a special visit from the Easter Bunny—thank you to our amazing Activities Team and Washington State Bank for helping make it happen!
• Our exercise classes proved you’re never too old for an Easter egg hunt—especially when each egg comes with a fun movement to keep everyone active!
• Meaningful hymn sings and Good Friday and Easter services brought worship and praise as we celebrated Resurrection Sunday.
• And of course, our team joined in the fun with employee egg hunts featuring prizes from JT Sips, Lebowski’s, Dutch Market, and Triple M Nutrition!

Through all the festivities, we are reminded of the true meaning of Easter—the love and sacrifice of Christ. Celebrated through laughter, shared meals, fellowship, and faith, we are grateful for the many blessings that surround us each day. 🌷

On this Good Friday, we come together in reflection, gratitude, and faith. ✝️ Thank you to Andrew for leading such a meaningful Good Friday Service for our campus - it was a beautiful time to pause and remember the true meaning of the day. “He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” - 1 Peter 2:24
A gentle reminder of the hope we hold onto and the peace that carries us forward. 💛

We had a blast with today’s ‘Wet T-Shirt Contest’ — don’t worry, it was all in good fun! 😄 The name had a few residents doing a double take at first, but with a creative (and appropriate!) twist by our Activities Team, it quickly turned into lots of laughs and smiles— a perfect way to celebrate an April Fools’ Day surprise! 🎉

Happy National Doctors Day to Dr. Nacos! 🩺
The time, attention, and thoughtfulness he gives to each resident does not go unnoticed. Whether it’s listening a little longer, explaining things more clearly, or simply being present, Dr. Nacos brings a level of care that means so much to our campus.
Today we celebrate the difference he makes every day—thank you for being such an important part of our community!

Good times and sweet treats! Residents hopped on the bus last week for a trip to Rock Island to visit the Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse. They had a wonderful time watching—and singing along to— "H***y Tonk Angels", a lively musical celebrating female country stars and the story of three women chasing their dreams in Nashville. Paired with delicious treats, the day was filled with laughter, music, and high spirits from start to finish! 🎶
