The grand reopening of the Moore Family Dining Room kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Resident Mary Meeker thought an official ribbon cutting was an appropriate celebration so she helped dining services director Cory Evans do the honors.

This was the first meal in this space since the flood in July. We appreciate the patience of the residents, the flexibility from dining services who served meals in our lovely Town Center, the UP Home maintenance staff for moving tables, chairs, etc. and several contractors like ServPro, Carl E Nelson Co. and Bruty’s Carpet for helping restore our beautiful dining room.

Andrew Zuehlke, spiritual life director provided a scripture reading and prayer before the delicious lunch was served. We can't wait for the many future events that will be held in our newly renovated space!

During this special Activity Professionals Week, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the incredible work the UP Home Activity Team does every day. Their dedication to bringing joy, laughter, and compassion to our residents is truly inspiring.
Your ability to create engaging and fun activities that cater to everyone's interests is a testament to your creativity and enthusiasm. Whether it's organizing group events or providing one-on-one activities for those who are less confident in larger settings, your empathy and understanding of individual needs shine through in all that you do.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of our residents. Your efforts not only bring smiles but also foster a sense of community and belonging. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a talented and caring team.

Thank you Jan and Jordan

Kicking off the 2026 Art Calendar is resident Sue Mertz! This cozy and cheerful acrylic painting captures the quiet beauty of winter, blending soft colors and gentle light to create a scene that feels both peaceful and nostalgic. Sue challenged herself to make acrylics flow and blend like watercolor on canvas, a technique that adds warmth and softness to the snowy landscape. Inspired by the encouragement of fellow artists and the joy of creative growth, her work reminds us that as winter begins, it’s often the simple moments and shared support that warm the season the most.

These photos and videos are from the Christmas Program held at 2:00 p.m. on December 19 in the Health Center Dining Room, organized by Spiritual Life Director Andrew Zhuehlke. The program featured a choir directed by Sara Bartlett, along with a skit written by Andrew that reflected on the common stressors of the season and encouraged everyone to focus on the true meaning of Christmas.

As Andrew shared, it was “a program that told the story of the birth of Christ from scripture and the singing of traditional Christmas hymns by myself and the congregation. The program also challenged attendees to reflect upon their relationship with Christ Jesus and ask them to put their faith in Him and invite Him into their heart as Lord and Savior and receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life.” We were blessed with a large turnout, and the room was filled.

Yesterday’s music program with Spiritual Life Director Andrew Zhuehlke featured a variety of Christmas music. Residents enjoyed singing along to familiar favorites, while also listening to original pieces performed by Andrew. Dining Services provided miniature cinnamon rolls and wassail to complete the experience. It was a warm and uplifting gathering that brought the joy and spirit of the season to everyone in attendance.
