🌟 Celebrating Leadership & Impact at Agape Health Services 🌟

We are proud to share that Gwendolyn Gilbert, Chief Behavioral Health Officer, has been accepted into the 2026 Cohort of the North Carolina Healthcare Foundation’s Diverse Healthcare Leaders Mentorship Program.

This highly competitive, nine-month initiative is designed to strengthen the pipeline of underrepresented leaders in healthcare across North Carolina. The program connects rising leaders with experienced executives from hospitals, health systems, and community healthcare organizations through one-on-one mentoring, peer learning, and meaningful networking opportunities that support professional growth and leadership development.

Created to ensure healthcare leadership better reflects the communities served throughout our state, this program helps strengthen equity, innovation, and responsiveness to local needs.

Through this opportunity, Gwendolyn will further enhance leadership capacity that can be brought back to Agape — supporting our continued efforts to expand integrated care, invest in staff development, and strengthen community-focused behavioral health services in eastern North Carolina.

By participating in a program intentionally focused on diverse leadership, we help elevate the voices and needs of the communities we serve — particularly those who have been historically underrepresented in healthcare decision-making.

Please join us in congratulating Gwendolyn on this outstanding achievement! 👏

Love Your Heart 💖

Valentine’s Week Kickoff

This Valentine’s Day, don’t just show love to others —
love your heart, too.

Your heart works for you every single day. Taking time for preventive care, knowing your numbers, and checking in on your health is one of the most meaningful acts of self-care.

✨ Loving your heart looks like:

Knowing your blood pressure

Checking cholesterol levels

Staying on top of preventive screenings

Because the healthiest relationships start with taking care of yourself.

📅 Schedule a check-up and show your heart some love.

❤️ Wearing Red for Women’s Heart Health ❤️

Today, we are proud to recognize Lykeitha Razor and Jameila Byrd, Medical Assistants at our Williamston location, for wearing red in support of Women’s Cardiovascular Health Awareness.

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for women, and raising awareness is one of the most powerful tools we have in prevention. Small steps — knowing your numbers, scheduling regular checkups, staying active, and managing stress — can make a life-saving difference.

Thank you, Lykeitha, Jameila, and our other team members who wore red to help bring attention to such an important cause and for the compassionate care you provide to our patients every day. ❤️

At Agape Health Services, we are committed to supporting the heart health of our community — today and every day.

👉 Agape Health Services was proud to spend time on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. this week, meeting with members of Congress to advocate for the continued protection of the 340B Drug Pricing Program — a program that is critical to the patients we serve.

Administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the 340B Program allows Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) like Agape to purchase outpatient medications at reduced prices — helping us stretch limited resources and reinvest savings directly into patient care.

For our rural communities in eastern North Carolina, 340B:

• Expands access to affordable medications
• Supports integrated primary and behavioral health services
• Strengthens pharmacy sustainability
• Funds care coordination and chronic disease management

As an FQHC, our mission is to provide comprehensive care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. Protecting 340B helps ensure we can continue delivering equitable, community-based healthcare to those who need it most.

Advocating for 340B is advocating for our patients — and we are grateful for the opportunity to represent them on Capitol Hill.

Comment below how having access to affordable medications and the 340B Program has made an impact on your life 👇

High cholesterol doesn’t come with warning signs.
You can feel healthy, stay active, and still have levels that quietly increase your risk for heart disease and stroke.

That’s why cholesterol screening is an important part of preventive care — and is often included in your Annual Wellness Visit (AWV).

Screening allows your provider to:

Identify risks early

Track changes over time

Create a personalized plan to support your heart health

✨ Preventive care isn’t about finding something wrong.
It’s about protecting what’s right.

📅 Schedule your Annual Wellness Visit and stay one step ahead of your health.

Blood Pressure & Cholesterol Awareness

Do you know your blood pressure?
Your numbers can tell an important story about your heart health — even when you’re feeling perfectly fine.

Blood pressure and cholesterol are two key indicators that often work together. When either is elevated, your risk for heart disease and stroke can quietly increase over time.

Knowing your ranges matters. Regular monitoring and preventive screenings help catch changes early — when small lifestyle adjustments or simple treatments can make the biggest difference.

✨ Prevention isn’t about fear.
It’s about awareness, early action, and protecting your long-term health.

Know your numbers. Protect your heart.

📅 Schedule a check-up or ask about labs during your next visit.
