Ptarmigan Pediatrics, Ptarmigan Connections, and Ptarmigan Therapy will undergo a system-wide phone outage this evening, January 27, 2026, beginning at 6:00 PM and lasting approximately two hours.

During this outage, Ptarmigan Pediatrics’ after-hours phone options and the voicemail systems for Ptarmigan Connections and Ptarmigan Therapy will be unavailable.

Ptarmigan Pediatrics patients and Ptarmigan Connections patients of Dr. Elowyn Smith may contact the Ptarmigan Pediatrics answering service directly for nurse triage support at 907-745-8037. All other Ptarmigan Connections patients may call back after 8:00 PM to access voicemail or email info@pc-ak.com. Ptarmigan Therapy patients are encouraged to call back after 8:00 PM, once our phone services are restored.

Ptarmigan Pediatrics is open today while we still have power! We also have water -- if you need water we are happy to fill up 5 gallon water bottles in our breakroom today. Stop by the clinic front desk and ask for Stacy. Be safe out there! Hopefully this is all over soon.

Just a heads up! A lot is happening on Seward Meridian this week. Please give yourself extra time if you are traveling this way!

📢Heads up, Seward Meridian Parkway travelers!

We will begin installing a median on Seward Meridian between Palmer-Wasilla Highway and Cottonwood Creek on Wednesday, August 13. During this work, the intersections at East Meridian Loop, North Meridian Place, and East Cottonwood Way will be CLOSED. You will need to access the areas behind the closure using the intersections with signals at E. Birch View Drive and E. Country Field Circle.

🟢All traffic is running on the west side of the road while crews continue constructing the east side of the road.
🔵When construction of the east side of the road is complete in September, you will no longer be able to take left turns at the non-signalized intersections due to the median. The median is being installed to improve safety and reduce the risk of crashes.

This Friday (7/11) is our SUMMER FAIR! We will mostly be closed to patients for the day so that our employees can help with the event. We will have openings in our Acute Care Clinic for sick visits (by appointment only) from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Our phones will be available from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM. We hope this helps. Don't forget to swing by our FREE Summer Fair from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the clinic!

We are excited to share that a new coffee shop has opened in our Ptarmigan Connections building. Amihan Cafe is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. They have an assortment of coffee, beverages, sandwiches, salads, snacks, daily lunch specials, etc. Swing by at your next appointment!

INFLUENZA VACCINE has arrived! Like recent years, we can vaccinate adults that accompany their kids to appointments in our clinic this year. Let us know if you would like to receive this vaccine with your child. We are happy to help.
