Whenever a client asks me “how often should I get massage?” I want to answer with another question and say “how fast do you want to feel better?”
Massage works best when it’s consistent, especially at the beginning. Starting with regular sessions, like once a week, allows the progress to build instead of starting over, helping your body heal faster.
Once problem areas and chronic tension are resolved and progress comes to a plateau, it makes sense to reduce to once a month, or less. Many people do well with monthly massage or occasional maintenance, especially if they’re staying active and stretching.
Only getting massage once in a blue moon can still feel good and offer short term relief. But for fast healing, pain relief, and long lasting results, starting with regular massage and then tapering down is the way to go. ✨
