📝 Skinterventions for your 20s ✨
The goal of skinterventions in your 20s is to preserve and protect what you currently have — which will result in fewer corrective treatments in your 40s & 50s
At age twenty, you start losing collagen at a rate of 1% per year until perimenopause where you lose 30% of your total collagen within the 5️⃣ years surrounding menopause ⏰
Tips for the 20s 👇🏼
1️⃣ Wear daily SPF 🧴
The pretty girls aren’t wearing faces full of makeup anymore. We are wearing tinted mineral SPF. Find a brand of mineral SPF that you like and wear it daily, even in winter and on cloudy days. Most of our visible aging (brown “age” spots + wrinkles) comes from UV damage — not genetics or actual age.
2️⃣ Skincare with high antioxidants & peptides 🧬
I can’t stress this one enough. In your youth, you should be focused on feeding your skin antioxidants to protect it from damage and the environment. Using antioxidants also protects the collagen you *do* have now. After antioxidants, you should be applying peptides to stimulate collagen (best product for this ➡️ PepUp 🥇). This is called collagen-banking. Using these two types of products is setting you up for fewer lines + wrinkles and signs of aging later. Thank me in 20 years. 🫶🏻
3️⃣ Stop tanning. Yesterday.
Putting skin cancer and immune system dysfunction aside, UV actually kills and degrades our collagen. If you’re tanning while getting invasive skin treatments, using collagen-stimulating skincare, or using quality clinical skincare, you’re literally throwing your money at the wind 💸☁️
4️⃣ If you have developed expression lines in your forehead or between your eyes that are present at rest, then tox can be used to treat these lines. Some will disagree, but I don’t believe in “preventative” or “baby Botox.” You either need it or you don’t. If you have lines that are set into the skin, you’re a candidate for a wrinkle-relaxing treatment 💉
