April Diabetes Class! 💚

This educational diabetes class is designed to help individuals better understand diabetes and feel more confident managing their health. Participants will learn how diabetes affects the body, practical strategies for blood sugar management, nutrition guidance, medication overviews, and lifestyle habits that support long-term wellness.

The class is led by knowledgeable healthcare professionals and provides clear, practical information in a supportive, judgment-free environment. It is open to individuals with diabetes, prediabetes, and those supporting a loved one.

Please plan to attend all sessions as this is one class that takes place over multiple meeting dates.

👋 Meet Dr. Heather Jones – a Family Medicine physician at Capstone Family Medicine in Eagle River! She’s been with Capstone since 2009 and is passionate about providing personalized care to patients of all ages, especially having multiple generations in the same family. 🩺

👩‍⚕️ Originally from California, Dr. Jones moved to Alaska with the Air Force and has called it home for over 20 years. She’s also a proud member of the Air National Guard and completed her residency at the University of Nebraska/Offutt Air Force Base combined program.

When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Jones enjoys walking, e-biking, paddleboarding, hiking, and glamping. 🌞 Fun fact: she’s an identical twin! 😄
