Living with Diabetes?

Small Changes Can Make a Big Difference!

Our February diabetes classes begin today! We are offering both Tuesday and Thursday class options this month to make it easier for you to attend.

This educational diabetes class is designed to help individuals better understand diabetes and feel more confident managing their health. Participants will learn how diabetes affects the body, practical strategies for blood sugar management, nutrition guidance, medication overviews, and lifestyle habits that support long-term wellness.

The class is led by knowledgeable healthcare professionals and provides clear, practical information in a supportive, judgment-free environment. It is open to individuals with diabetes, prediabetes, and those supporting a loved one.

Please plan to attend all sessions as this is one class that takes place over multiple meeting dates.

🌟 Provider Spotlight - Scott Schafer, PA-C
Urgent Care - Wasilla

👋 Meet Scott, Who brings a wealth of experience and dedication to our Urgent Care team in Wasilla. Originally from Sandwich, Illinois, Scott began his journey in healthcare through military service, joining the United States Air Force in 1994 and proudly retiring after 20 years of service.

He earned his bachelor’s degree through the Inter-Service Physician Assistant Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and went on to complete a Master’s in PA Studies with a focus in Family Medicine and Urgent Care in 2001. Scott has been a valued provider at Capstone Clinic since 2013, offering compassionate, fast-paced care to patients when they need it most.

🏔️ Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and making the most of Alaska’s great outdoors. From hunting and fishing to hiking, camping, and ATV riding. He enjoys staying active and never misses a chance to get outside.
