In 2024 the Valley Imaging Center logo was proudly on display as took the championship - Cody Barber & Brett Lapham.

is racing with our support again this year, 𝗗𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 / 𝗗𝗮𝗱 - 𝗗𝗨𝗢 - best of luck Shana (wife of Brett, sister of Cody) and Shane (dad to Shana & Cody + dad to Evan who is racing with Steffen Booth also in this years race) .

🏁 Father-Daughter Team Spotlight: Team 39

Shane Barber and Shana Lapham from Willow, AK are taking on , both riding Polaris Inc.

Shane is a born-and-raised Alaskan and a longtime part of the Iron Dog story. His family has been involved since the very first race in 1984, and this year marks Shane’s 20th Iron Dog, made even more meaningful as he lines up alongside his daughter, Shana, for the first time. As Shane shared, “I am extremely thankful and excited about racing with my beautiful daughter Shana in this year’s Iron Dog.”

Shana was raised around Hatcher Pass and now lives in Willow with her husband and their two daughters. She brings the same love for the outdoors and sense of adventure that’s been passed down through generations. When she’s not working as a senior accountant, she’s outside with her family making the most of Alaska life and passing that love for adventure down to the next generation. What makes this season even more special is that it’s not only Shana’s first time racing alongside her dad, but also her first year racing the Iron Dog.

The Barber family is showing up strong on the trail this year, too, with Shane’s son Evan Barber racing as part of Team 3.

Iron Dog is truly a family tradition for the Barbers. In the 2024 Iron Dog Race, Shane’s son, Cody Barber, raced alongside Shana’s husband, Brett Lapham, and they won the race together.

We’re excited to see this three-generation Iron Dog legacy continue.
