Early sobriety can be one of the most challenging and most important phases of recovery. 🩵

As your body and mind adjust to life without substances, it’s common to experience withdrawal symptoms such as:

1️⃣ Anxiety/restlessness
2️⃣ Irritability/mood changes
3️⃣ Insomnia
4️⃣ Fatigue
5️⃣ Sweating/chills
6️⃣ Headaches/body aches
7️⃣ Nausea
8️⃣ Intense cravings

These symptoms can feel overwhelming at first, but they are a sign that your body is beginning to reset and heal. With the right support and structure, this phase becomes more manageable.

At Rubicon Recovery Center, we offer addiction treatment services in Watchung, New Jersey, providing compassionate, personalized care that supports individuals through the early stages of sobriety and beyond.

🩵 What we carry isn’t always ours to begin with. Generational trauma affects more than one lifetime, shaping how we cope, connect, and survive. When trauma goes untreated, it often gets passed on, sometimes showing up as anxiety, depression, or even substance use.

With trauma-informed, compassionate care, healing is possible; individuals can address both mental health and addiction struggles at their root and begin creating healthier patterns.

At Rubicon Recovery Center and Rubicon Mental Health, we specialize in helping people break the cycle. 🫶

❄️ Dry January shouldn’t be viewed as just a trend. For many, it’s a wake-up call.

Stopping alcohol can reveal how much it’s been affecting your sleep, mood, mental health, and daily life. If quitting feels harder than expected, it may have escalated to alcoholism or Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). These conditions are not a lack of willpower, but a condition that deserves support.

At Rubicon Recovery Center, we specialize in helping individuals break free from alcohol addiction with compassionate, evidence-based care. 🫶

Let this Dry January be your first step toward sobriety, and remember, you don’t have to navigate this chapter alone. Rubicon’s recovery experts are just a phone call away. 🩵

As we look back on 2025, we’re overflowing with gratitude for the people, moments, and growth that shaped Rubicon this year! 💫

We took meaningful steps forward, rebranding as Rubicon Behavioral Healthcare, opening Rubicon Mental Health, and finishing another incredible year at Rubicon Recovery Center. We also celebrated well-deserved leadership promotions, including Sarah Couture stepping into the role of Clinical Director, Megan Thomson becoming our Executive Director, and Clara Tisi being promoted to Director of Business Development. This year also marked President Michael DeMasi’s 13 years of sobriety, a reminder of the lived experience and purpose behind our work’s mission.

Throughout the year, our team showed up for those struggling with addiction and/or their mental health, for each other, and for our community. From outreach events and industry conferences to initiatives like the Ice Bucket Challenge, these moments reflect who we are at Rubicon and why we do what we do.

2025 was about connection, compassion, and continued growth. We’re grateful to every single one of you who supported us, and we’re so excited for what 2026 will bring! 🩵
