MYTH: Colonics destroy your microbiome

This claim gets repeated constantly, but when you actually look at the science, the story is far more nuanced.

Here’s what we do know:
• There is one published human study examining colon hydrotherapy and the microbiome
• That study found no tendency for disruption of intestinal microbiota (and each participant had 3 colonics in a 2 week period)
• Much of the fear around “microbiome damage” comes from colonoscopy prep studies, which use oral chemical laxatives that purge the entire digestive tract
• Colon hydrotherapy is water-based and targets the lower colon only. An entirely different mechanism

The honest truth?
Research is limited.
There is no evidence showing microbiome destruction. Anecdotally, people report improved outcomes (why people love colonics).
And fear-based claims are not the same as data.

With new Organic Edge locations popping up 👀 as well as some much needed down time, I’m traveling a ton. My pre-travel protocol:

Getting what no longer serves me out and putting the good back in is a game changer. Doing this prior to traveling has eliminated jet lag and bloat. Before and after my flight I’ll be doing my hydrogen water as the last step to the protocol. I then walk off the plane ready to work and enjoy my time.

I am still reeling from the incredible Organic Edge event “A Midsummer Nights Wellness Reset” that of produced at . We had a bunch of activations, craniosacral with red light therapy, giving us all ear seeds, giving out B12 shots and I was previewing my bio-energetics. put out the most beautiful and delicious spread and with by serving up the most delicious mocktails.
