On August 18th, our team at Northwest CT Public Safety (NWCTPS) worked tirelessly to support the communities of Seymour, Oxford, Naugatuck, Middlebury, Woodbury, Southbury, and beyond. With 574 emergency and 532 non-emergency calls, we faced an incredibly high volume—averaging 87 calls per hour at the height of the storm. We're grateful for our dedicated staff, many of whom live in the areas impacted, and the resilience of our communities and services during such a challenging time.
As a regional dispatch center, we were able to efficiently bring in mutual aid from towns less impacted by the storm, ensuring that help was always available where it was needed most. As we move forward, we will rebuild together as a community, and NWCTPS will continue to support everyone throughout the process. Stay safe, and remember we're always here when you need us. 💙
