Endometriosis is a systemic inflammatory disease and is not curable. However, wholistic lifestyle changes can help manage the symptoms and target the root cause of the inflammation.

One treatment option is laparoscopic excision surgery and is considered the gold standard of surgical care for Endometriosis. NaPro surgeons work to restore the body to it's original design.

Lifestyle changes can also help manage Endometriosis: reducing chronic inflammation, lowering estrogen levels and balancing hormones, and pelvic floor therapy can directly address what causes the pain and tissue growth caused by Endometriosis.

Reduce chronic inflammation: Alcohol, dairy, and caffeine may fuel endometrial tissue growth, so decreased consumption can help manage estrogen levels. Eating more anti-inflammatory foods can help to reduce overall inflammation in the body.

Lower estrogen levels: Consuming fiber-rich foods helps eliminate excess estrogen from the body, reducing potential symptoms.

Pelvic floor therapy and exercise: Highly beneficial for Endometriosis to address chronic muscle tension by relaxing overactive pelvic muscles.

Hormonal birth control is commonly prescribed to manage Endometriosis symptoms both before and after surgery. Birth control before surgery suppresses the menstrual cycle but does not address the root-cause of tissue growth. The relief is short lived and the disease is allowed to progress. Birth control after Endometriosis surgery is sometimes recommended which suppresses the menstrual cycle and will mask symptoms such as pain and bleeding. However, because birth control is estrogen-dependent, birth control can contribute to endometrial tissue growth.

FertilityCare Practitioners are skilled in the identification and management of Endometriosis. NaPro trained surgeons focus on root-cause treatment of Endometriosis, and specialized excision surgery to remove the Endometriosis while preserving fertility.

Endometriosis excision surgery is considered the gold-standard of care as it is a minimally invasive procedure that cuts out endometriosis and scar tissue to provide long-term pain relief, treat infertility, and remove deep infiltrating Endometriosis.

Guiding Star Cedar Valley offers Creighton Intro Sessions with our in-house FertilityCare Practitioners, Julie Grunklee and Amanda Blohn. Through this process, women are given opportunities to better understand their fertility.

"As a Fertility Care Practitioner I teach Creighton Model to a large variety of couples. Creighton Model is a method of charting a woman's natural fertility cycle. One of my favorite things about the Creighton Model is the ability to help couples get good, ethical medical care for their fertility concerns.

When Creighton Model charting and Natural Procreative Technology come together much is discovered about a woman's fertility. Endometriosis is a disease that is not easy to spot but there are some signs and symptoms. Creighton Practitioners and NaPro Medical Consultants are trained to listen for signs and walk along in the process of diagnosing and treating endometriosis. I love this approach because we consider the woman's goals and desires currently and in the future. When a woman is ready for treatment her NaPro surgeon can help her with symptoms now and reduce her chances of recurrence in the future!" - Amanda Blohn

Give us a call at (319) 232 - 2695 for a free care consult to better understand Creighton charting and if it is the right fit for you.

The process of understanding and diagnosing Endometriosis can be extremely overwhelming. We are here to walk alongside you during this process, providing support and resources to help you receive the care and treatment you deserve.

Our lives have purpose. Our bodies have purpose. Our hearts, minds, and souls have purpose. And we believe that offering an approach to healthcare that honors and understands that helps us live differently.

A comprehensive, life-affirming approach to healthcare is the missing link to being able to truly connect with women, in whatever stage of life they are in, and to helping them feel empowered and supported in their bodies. Women's healthcare hasn't always done this well - but the Ripples and Waves created here at Guiding Star Cedar Valley are working to make the change.

Help us make it over the finish line of our $50,000 goal and prayerfully consider a gift towards our efforts.

Today, we excitedly announce the winner of our second prize package, Keri Brecht! Thank you, and all who have donated, for your contributions.

Although we have given out our week one and two prizes, there are still opportunities to donate and make a change in the healthcare women receive!

All donations of $500 or more made throughout the Spring Appeal campaign, today, and through the weekend, help contribute to our $50,000 goal - and are entered into a final SURPRISE Grand Prize Package, with prizes generously donated by Grout Museum, NinjaU, Sub City, and The Isle Casino & Hotel!

The final Grand Prize Package includes a Luxury, Overnight Stay at the Isle Casino with Dinner and Breakfast, 4 Free Passes to NinjaU, 4 Explorer Guest Passes to the Grout Museum, a $25 Sub City Gift Card, a Modern Manhood T-Shirt, an Empower, Embrace, Enrich T-Shirt, and Guiding Star Stickers!
