My story
I started this cleaning business as a single mom of three because I needed a way to provide for my kids on my own terms. We live far away from family, so a lot of the time it’s just us—no built-in village, no easy backup plan. I had to build something that could hold us up, something steady, something I could control.

Cleaning may look simple, but to me it’s meaningful work. It’s care. It’s creating peace in the middle of chaos. It’s walking into someone’s home and leaving it lighter, calmer, and more manageable—because I know what it feels like when life is heavy.

I also wanted a schedule that works for my children, not against them. I didn’t want to miss school events or games, the moments that matter. I needed flexibility, but I also needed pride—something I could build with my own hands and grow over time.

And I didn’t start from nothing. The education I received at Wartburg College helped shape how I think and how I work.

This business is more than a job. It's proving to myself that I can build a future that feels safe and hopeful. Every client who trusts me, every dollar I earn honestly—it's a step toward the life I’m working so hard to give my children.

I started this because I had to… but I’ve kept going because I believe in it. And I’m proud of what I’m building—one clean, fresh start at a time.

Putting Oden down was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I knew coming home without him would hurt, but I wasn’t prepared for how unbearable the silence would feel.

The hardest part of that day wasn’t even the vet visit itself. It was coming home and seeing all the pieces of him still everywhere. His bed. His bowls. His leash. The little reminders that he had been here, that he was part of every corner of my life, and suddenly he wasn’t.

When I got home, all I could do was clean. Not because I wanted to, but because looking at his belongings hurt too much. I put things away with shaking hands, trying to make the house feel less heavy, even though nothing could really make it hurt less. It felt wrong and necessary at the same time. Like I was trying to survive the only way I knew how in that moment.

Grief is strange like that. Sometimes it doesn’t look like crying on the floor. Sometimes it looks like folding up a blanket, vacuuming the floors, and avoiding the sight of the things they left behind because the love is just too big and the loss is too fresh.

I miss you, Oden. More than words can hold. And I think part of me always will.
