📢 Important Update for Connecticut Families & Advocates!

The Connecticut State Department of Education has released NEW official guidance on the role of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) in schools: Guidelines and Professional Standards for CT 📘

This long-awaited document provides much-needed clarity around how BCBAs should ethically and effectively support students within public education settings. It’s a crucial step toward ensuring consistent, high-quality behavioral supports for students with disabilities across our state.

💙 We’re proud to share that two SEEK CT Board Members, Attorney Andrew Feinstein and Attorney Jeffrey Forte, contributed to the review process. Their expertise and dedication helped shape this guidance to better protect student rights and support families.

The CSDE formally acknowledged them among the review participants who offered valuable feedback to strengthen the final draft.

👉 We encourage all parents, educators, and advocates to read the guidance and stay informed. This document will have a real impact on services and supports in our schools.

This month, our staff learned to master the art of Shaping and Discrete Trial Training (DTT)!

Our Clinical Director, Kara Hansen, led a fun and engaging training session where the team not only strengthened their clinical skills, but also practiced shaping while learning some French and perfecting their drawing skills and their co****le throw!

At IRIS BHS, we believe training should be hands-on, meaningful, and fun—just like the therapy we provide to our clients.

Our vacancies are filling up quickly! IRIS Behavioral Health Services still has a few early afternoon openings (12–3:30 PM) for our in-home ABA program in the New Britain and Meriden areas.

This is a wonderful option for families seeking fewer therapy hours, perfect for children who may benefit from services but don’t need a full-time schedule. We understand that therapy dosage should be based on each child’s unique needs, and we strive to provide more flexibility for your family.

At IRIS, we specialize in home-based, daycare, and community-centered care, the places where children thrive most. Our approach is compassionate & inclusive, rooted in joy and connection, play-based and structured, designed with caregiver input and child assent, data-informed, ensuring therapy feels natural, meaningful, and fun!
