Did you see the Northern Lights last night? We were lucky enough to catch them shining right above our new office. The colors were absolutely breathtaking - what a beautiful reminder of the amazing things happening all around us!

We’ll be closed next Wednesday–Friday (November 19-21, 2025) while we make the move. We can’t wait to welcome you to our new space soon!

Dr. Pownell doesn't just take great care of her patients, she also volunteers as a board member for My Happy Place - Watertown. Check out the story here! 💜🩵

My Happy Place is blessed to have a compassionate and hard working board to help lead our non-profit in making healing spaces for individuals facing serious health diagnoses.

Meet Jill Pownell! She was the founding Director of the My Happy Place - Watertown affiliate and now serves as our Vice President!

Here's some fun facts about Jill:

FAMILY: married to Chris with two daughters, Nora & Evelyn
WORK: Optometrist - co-owner at Watertown Family Eyecare
HOBBIES/INTERESTS: Spending time chasing my girls around to their activities! I spend my time watching softball and basketball games. I love going camping and spending time on the lake.
WHEN and WHY did you join MHP: Our family moved back to the Watertown area in 2017 after living in Mason City, IA. I initially brought the idea of MHP to a group of friends and they loved the idea of becoming an affiliate. I loved watching makeover shows and to bring a place of joy and healing to someone who is hurting is the best feeling.
FAVORITE MEMORY from past makeovers: There are too many great memories to list. My favorite part of each makeover is on Reveal Day. To see the recipient see their new space for the first time is so rewarding! It makes all the hard work worth it and makes me happy to give back.
