At 6 p.m. on Monday, December 8, the Dodge-Jefferson Counties Genealogical Society (DJCGS) is honored to host Dr. Patrick Steele as our speaker in the Community Room of the Watertown Public Library.

Dr. Steele’s presentation will be on “Wisconsin and World War I.” The focus will be on Wisconsin's contributions to the Great War, from those that fought and returned, and those that remain overseas. We will also see how the war impacted the German immigrant communities at home.

Those who came to hear Dr. Steele’s talk about the Civil War in 2024 will remember him as an engaging speaker. He is perhaps best known as a longtime college history professor in southern Wisconsin and the author of Home of the Braves: The Battle for Baseball in Milwaukee. Deeply interested in baseball and softball, Dr. Steele is now semi-retired, focusing on coaching, research, and writing.

Light snacks and refreshments will be available. All are welcome to attend. More can be learned about our society at the event or at our website, https://www.dodgejeffgen.org.
