Jimmy had a great time connecting with friends, old and new, at Carthage Central School during the annual Dinner and a Show hosted by our friends at Carthage Bridge Builders. More than 75 people supported, and staff from The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence and the DPAO enjoyed an evening filled with the Disney favorite Frozen and a delicious dinner provided by Art’s Jug.

We are so grateful to Carthage Bridge Builders for all they do to create inclusive opportunities for the people we support.

Congratulations to this year’s flag contest winners!

Team Jaxson took first place with a beautiful quilt made from past Autism Acceptance Walk T-shirts and were also the top fundraising team. Team Laso earned second with their groovy flag reading, “Autism kindness is out of this world, man.”

Special thanks to the Brotherhood of Mitzfits for their surprise visit during the Walk and their generous $2,000 donation to The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence Foundation, raised throughout the year.

Congrats to the winners of the costume contest! Every year at the Autism Acceptance Walk, we have a costume contest that fits the theme. This year's theme was "Kindness is Our Vibe," and there were some awesome '70s costumes! Team Harrison snagged 2nd place with their farmers' market idea, while The Mystery Gang, dressed as the classic Scooby Doo crew, took home 1st place. A big shoutout to the TI Gang and Recycle Michael for joining in as well!

🌼 Thank You for Making the Autism Acceptance Walk Incredible! 🌼
What an amazing day of color, kindness, and community! Thank you to the 404 participants, generous sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who joined us at SUNY Canton’s Roos House for this year’s Autism Acceptance Walk.
Together, we raised more than $38,500 to support programs and services for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities across the North Country. Your enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to inclusion made the day truly special.
From the vibrant costumes and creative team flags to the smiling faces and shared moments of connection, the spirit of this community shone brightly. We are especially grateful to our sponsors, volunteers, and partners who helped make the event possible.
And the excitement is already building - next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the Autism Acceptance Walk! The crowd was thrilled to hear that the theme for 2027 will be “WILD for Acceptance,” so start planning your safari and animal print attire now!
Thank you for helping us continue to build a community where everyone is valued, supported, and celebrated. 💙 Stay tuned for more pictures in the upcoming days!
