It is with mixed emotions that I must inform you that Watertown Medical Associates will be closing its doors soon. This decision has not been easy, but after careful consideration, I believe that it is necessary at this time. I am not retiring, however. I believe there is a better way to provide exceptional medical care: Direct Patient Care (DPC). DPC is a model in which patients pay a monthly fee for their personalized care. This means extended appointment times, in your home or at the office, at times that are convenient to you. Urgent concerns get addressed that same day, every day of the week. You continue to obtain trusted medical advice from me, your doctor, now only a phone call or text away. Though I would work with your insurance for your medications and diagnostic tests, I would not be paid by them. Ultimately, think of Direct Patient Care as VIP healthcare with personalized service in a membership setting.

I will reply to you in the next few days and we can set a time to meet and discuss how you can become a member.
Here are some key details regarding the closure: Our last day of operations is officially JUNE 30th. All visits until then remain as scheduled. I encourage you to call to schedule a Transition of Care appointment before then with your usual provider. Otherwise, you can call to arrange to pick up your medical records in person at the office. Be prepared to provide a USB Flash Drive for this, or we can provide one for a nominal fee. We will NOT be printing records, as this would be tens of thousands of pages. Expect a turnaround time of 1-2 weeks. We can provide a list of primary care providers in the area upon request.
I am happy to answer any questions and to make this transition as smooth as possible. I hope you will consider continuing your medical care with me. I am certain it will be incredibly worthwhile.
