According to the 2025 Gender Snapshot, violence against women and girls is one of the most pervasive—and preventable—human rights violations in the world.

Yet less than 1% of humanitarian funding is spent on gender-based violence prevention and response.

We can't afford to wait. In honor of of activism against gender-based violence, join us in calling for greater investment in proven pathways to women's agency and autonomy, including:

✔️ Comprehensive legal, social, and health system protections for survivors of gender-based violence.
✔️ Women's economic and financial empowerment.

As commitments roll out, we must center women—the individuals most severely impacted by climate change—in all adaptation strategies.

In places like Sindh, Pakistan, cycles of drought, extreme heat, and devastating floods are not just destroying homes—they're pushing financially strained families to marry off girls as children.

But change is happening. Karishma and her husband are using the power of community theatre to advocate against child marriage, making art a tool for education and hope.

As Karishma says: “Through our theatre performances, we have created a space in the community where women, girls, men, and boys come together not only for entertainment but also to learn about the importance of education—especially for girls—and to explore new horizons.”

Karishma is one of 700+ women shaping a more climate-resilient future for Pakistan. Let's champion these frontline leaders.

As discussions about how to protect the most climate-vulnerable communities take precedence at , we applaud a young girl doing just that.

Meet Rasna, a student from the flood-prone Haor region in Bangladesh.

Together with her classmates, Rasna formed a student council to transform the school into a safer flood shelter. She now goes class-to-class and door-to-door, teaching her community vital survival skills, including:
• How to safely store food
• The importance of swimming lessons for children
• Accessing emergency hotlines

Through Pathfinder’s women and climate program in Bangladesh, 6,000 students across 5 flood-prone districts are following in Rasna’s footsteps, building resilience where it’s needed most.

It's World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day!

The stakes are highest in Africa, which faces the world's highest cervical cancer mortality rate. Nearly 77,000 women die from this disease every year.

But these deaths are completely preventable.

Widespread scale-up of the HPV vaccine can help to eliminate cervical cancer in Africa—for good.

We celebrate the incredible efforts of our team in Nigeria. They have built a network of community champions across Ogun and Nasarawa states that have supported 110,950 girls to receive the HPV vaccine so far.

The team is now supporting scale-up of the HPV vaccine across three additional states.

Our work is part of a continental shift. As The Lancet recently noted: the number of African countries delivering the HPV vaccine has nearly tripled since 2019 (from 11 to 31).

Today, we celebrate this progress, but call for strategic investments in:
• HPV vaccination
• Screening infrastructure
• Treatment capacity
• Community engagement

Only then will we ensure no woman dies from cervical cancer again.

As leaders at discuss how best to measure climate adaptation, we're highlighting women already driving progress.

Meet Poonam, a Climate Champion in Sindh, Pakistan.

She offers guidance on health care, nutrition, and disaster preparedness. During floods and heavy rains, she helps families protect themselves from water- and vector-borne diseases and ensures pregnant women are prepared for climate emergences.

Once a child bride, Poonam now advocates for girls’ education and agency, breaking cycles of silence with dignity and quiet leadership. Her journey reflects the power of persistence and the deep impact of one woman’s resolve to build a better future for others.

Women like Poonam are critical to building safer, healthier communities in the most climate-vulnerable areas of the world.

Our women and climate program in Pakistan has trained 🌱 700+ Climate Champions 🌱 like her.

As the world discusses global climate adaptation at , we're highlighting the local leaders already building a more resilient future.

Meet Romena Akter from Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh—a place regularly ravaged by cyclones, storms, and floods.

Romena goes door-to-door, raising awareness and preparing her community for climate disasters. Her leadership is keeping women and families safe. She is:
• Serving on the local disaster management committee.
• Helping pregnant women prepare to deliver safely during climate emergencies.
• Sharing information on climate-adaptive agriculture to protect food security.
• Strengthening economic resilience for women and their families.

When women like Romena lead, a safer, healthier planet follows.

Over the past four years, Pathfinder’s women and climate program in Bangladesh has reached 194,000+ women like her.

We can’t solve the climate crisis with only half of the population.

Women are disproportionately affected by the climate crisis, and they hold the frontline knowledge for real solutions.

As begins, we call for solutions. This means:
• Investing in women’s health and well-being in all national climate adaptation plans and .
• Bringing women from the frontlines to the negotiation tables.

During COP30, we will be sharing stories of women leading transformative climate adaptation in their communities.

When women lead, a healthier planet follows.
