When safety nets unravel, people don’t just lose services—they lose stability.

Recent disruptions have left many Maine families unsure how they’ll pay for food, housing, or medication. For some, those supports were the only thing standing between stability and crisis.

At Kennebec Behavioral Health, we are seeing the impact every day. People come to us not just for therapy or medication—but for help holding their lives together. Our teams step in quickly, connecting individuals to housing supports, employment resources, crisis services, and care coordination when every hour matters.

Your gift to our year-end appeal ensures we are ready—when systems fail and neighbors need immediate support—to help people move from crisis to stability, and from stability to hope.

We have an update on the KBH food cupboards. We have moved the KBH food cupboard in Augusta from 66 Stone Street to 10 Caldwell Road (just across the street). These food cupboards are free, on-site, and available to any client or staff in need. 🍞🥫

Simply ask a KBH staff person for help, and they will guide you to that location's cupboard. We also want to thank everyone who has donated (staff and outside businesses) to these cupboards so far.

We hope this resource will continue to help support members of our community.

It's a Maine Cabin gingerbread house! We have a video from our gingerbread house contest that ended on Monday. This gingerbread house was built by our Waterville Med Clinic and Outpatient team and they went with a Maine cabin theme with lights, an ice rink, and animal corner. They really went all out and we love it!

We had 12 other teams at KBH participate, so be on the lookout for their creations!

Thank you to the congregants of St. Mark's Episcopal Church Waterville Maine for their incredible donation of Christmas gifts for 38 KBH clients! Members of the church took the time to find gifts of toys, clothing, books and more, wrap everything and donate it to our Waterville Clinic. This generosity truly means the world to us! 💚 🎁

We also want to thank our case management team who will be delivering these presents to families in Maine before the holidays.

Happy Gingerbread House Day!

KBH challenged its staff to compete in a Gingerbread House Contest, and they didn't disappoint! We gave 17 gingerbread house kits to 17 different teams and they have until Monday to complete and submit their houses.

We already have a couple submissions and we love the creativity and imagination! How would you decorate a gingerbread house?

Make sure to to see more submissions next week!

(Some) of the doors are in! 🚪🎄

KBH launched its 5th annual Holiday Door Decorating Contest yesterday, and five staff have already entered their doors for the prize! 🏆

Every year, our teams get more creative (and competitive) as they compete in a variety of holiday and winter-themed categories. The competition gets fierce!

Make sure to follow us to see the rest of the doors as they come in! 💚

ROAR and KBH staff braved the elements over the weekend and had a great time walking in the SKOW-Whoville Parade. The new banner for the Somerset County Recovery Center came out great; building community and connections. We also shared a meal at the center following the ROAR meeting.

We wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving! We hope you have a wonderful day of love and laughter!

We also know that while Thanksgiving is a time of celebration, it can also be a stressful time for many. Loneliness, family dynamics and financial stress can make anyone feel less than happy during the holidays.

But did you know that research shows that one aspect of Thanksgiving can actually improve your mental health? Gratitude!

"In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships."
