Blue Sky Counseling

Blue Sky Counseling Visit us at www.blueskycounseling.com for more information 🌻💙 At Blue Sky Counseling, we are committed to supporting people on their journey to recovery.

Utilizing comprehensive substance use services including medication assisted treatment (MAT), individualized care planning, supportive individual and group counseling and care coordination, we customize a plan to meet personal goals. We specialize in evidence-based treatment to help individuals overcome addiction and live productive lives. With an array of addiction programming and a holistic approach to care, we support with a combination of treatment options in locations including Waterville, Bangor, Lewiston, Skowhegan, Augusta, Rumford and Farmington. Reducing barriers and stigma and increasing accessibility is the goal of our compassionate team here at Blue Sky. Based on a person’s needs and understanding both the physical and emotional challenges of recovery, MAT is often the foundation of our treatment approach based on the individual's struggles and clinical assessment. Offering FDA-approved medications like Suboxone (a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone) to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, reduce cravings, and stabilize the body can significantly improve the ability to maintain recovery. By supporting physical recovery, MAT allows patients to focus on rebuilding their lives and addressing the deeper aspects of addiction. Suboxone also includes safeguards against misuse, promoting long-term success. We believe that lasting recovery requires more than medication. That’s why we pair MAT with personalized counseling services, tailored to meet the unique aspects of each person we serve. Through therapeutic intervention, we address the root causes of addiction, provide emotional support, and teach practical tools and skills to navigate challenges along the way. At Blue Sky Counseling, we provide a safe, non-judgmental space where people are treated with empathy, respect, and understanding. Our experienced team is here to help you take the first step and is dedicated to the process of coming together to transform lives. Regardless of the challenges you may face, our commitment is to ensure you receive the multifaceted support you need throughout the recovery journey to ensure your success.

❤️🧡💛We are feeling extra thankful today, this week, this season and year-round for the gift of recovery.

❤️ Thankful for the staff we have doing the work and the community members that have found recovery and lead others out of the darkness every day.
🧡 Thankful for the opportunity to be here, be present, have the tools and resources when someone is ready. To show others there is a life without the chaos, the cravings, the shame, or the fear.
💛Thankful there is hope, that no one has to be alone, and to have the ability to say "if you are struggling let us help."

Recovery isn’t perfect, but we are so grateful it is possible, it is worth it, there is hope and you are not alone💛🧡❤️

Why is MOUD so effective?
Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) work by stabilizing the brain and body so people can recover without the constant cycle of cravings, withdrawal, and compulsive use. These medications do not simply “replace one drug with another.” Instead, they correct the chemical imbalances caused by long-term opioid exposure.

Medications used in treatment:
• Restore balance to brain pathways related to reward, stress, and impulse control.
• Lower overdose death rates by more than 50% in research.
• Help people stay in treatment, reduce illicit opioid use, and rebuild functioning across all domains.
Often the use of medications help give people the physical support needed to focus on the psychological aspects hindering recovery.

MOUD in conjunction with therapeutic interventions including individual and or group counseling prove to be the most effective for long term recovery from opioid use disorder. Additionally peer support such as recovery coaching, connection to recovery communities and support resources further increase successful outcomes.
Blue Sky believes a multi-dimensional approach provides the most support, we offer and encourage all of these options in our OHH program.

🌿 Wellness Wednesday: Longevity & Cellular Health 🌿
True longevity isn’t just about adding years to your life—it’s about adding life to your years. ✨

Your body’s longevity starts at the cellular level. Every cell plays a role in how well you age, how you heal, and how vibrant you feel day to day.

Here are a few ways to support your cellular health naturally:
💧 Hydrate Deeply – Water fuels cellular repair and detoxification.
🥗 Nourish with Antioxidants – Colorful fruits, veggies, and omega-rich foods fight oxidative stress.
💤 Prioritize Restorative Sleep – Deep sleep allows cells to regenerate and balance hormones.
🏃‍♀️ Move Often – Exercise boosts circulation and cellular oxygenation.
🧘‍♂️ Manage Stress – Mindfulness and breathwork reduce cellular inflammation.

Small daily choices compound over time—support your cells today for a healthier, more radiant tomorrow. 🌞

Happy Friday!
Observation grounding is a mindfulness practice that helps you stay present and connected to the current moment by consciously noticing what’s happening around and within you — without judgment.
By focusing on observation rather than reaction, you gently shift your attention away from stress or rumination and back to the here and now. This helps reduce anxiety, increase clarity, and promote a sense of calm and balance.
