Thank you to our community & voters for your trust and I’m honored to continue to serve on your Hospital board for the next four years. I so appreciate all of you who volunteered and supported me, especially my parents who helped push our message out. I’m especially grateful for Vote Jasmine Najera for Pájaro Valley Health Care District and her leadership and work throughout 2022 to ensure we raised over $66million to keep our hospital open. I know she’ll still remain an active voice to ensure we remember our promise to serve our community.

Please keep our powerful hospital team together and on Nov 8th Vote Jasmine Najera for Pájaro Valley Health Care District and Marcus Pimentel for our new Watsonville Hospital Board. At just our second month of bringing our Hospital into community ownership… we can’t afford the risk of breaking up our team. We can’t risk slowing our progress. And we MUST NOT risk bringing back failed hospital leadership back into our board. Thank your Senator John Laird for all you did to make today possible. Our community will always remember you and Assemblymember Rivas for leading the way to raising over $66 million to keep our hospital open. And our MC today was fantastic (well done Vote Jasmine Najera for Pájaro Valley Health Care District ). It was such a special celebration today. I’m so proud of our Watsonville/Pajaro communities. Please join our celebration of everyone who for the last 18-months volunteered their time, donated their money, and gave us their very best efforts to keep our hospital open, bringing it under community ownership, and allowing us to fix the mistakes of the failed prior leadership.

We can’t return to the same hospital leadership that threatened our entire community. It’s time for new leadership devoted to YOUR NEEDS. I was overwhelmed with our community support as I went through Pajaro, Watsonville, and up to Seascape and the Aptos voting boundary. And although I’m still in awe at our collective work and generosity that raised over $60 million to keep the hospital open, it’s humbling to see all the support I received today. It was great to be with fellow Hospital Director Vote Jasmine Najera for Pájaro Valley Health Care District as the Health Improvement Partnership of Santa Cruz County (HIPSCC) honored Elisa Orona’s leadership as their outgoing Executive Director and welcomed new Executive Director and good friend Maritza Lara. I look forward to Maritza’s leadership and exploring partnership opportunities for our hospital.
