We strive to inspire compassionate action within local communities to create a safety net of support for the unique needs of each child and family.

Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services exists to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and support their families in the challenges they face.

Our service areas are Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, and South Santa Clara County. Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services exists to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and support their families in the challenges they face. We provide family-centered care that addresses the emotional, practical and financial struggles for families of children and teens during treatment, families experiencing anticipatory grief and those who are bereaved. We envision a community where every child with a serious or life-threatening condition has a strong, supported and informed family empowered to fully participate in their care.

We are reminiscing on all of the amazing memories from this past year! 🌟

As we reflect on 2025, a year filled with both challenges and moments of growth, one thing never wavered, our commitment to showing up for our families. We are deeply grateful to walk alongside families facing the realities of pediatric cancer and to offer support, comfort, and care every step of the way.🎗️

This July marked an important milestone as we fully expanded into Santa Clara County. Since then, we’ve welcomed new families into the Jacob’s Heart community, surrounding them with compassion, connection, and love. Through every change, our incredible community has continued to stand with us, making this work possible! ❤️✨

From all of us at Jacob’s Heart, thank you for an amazing year! We are excited to see what 2026 will bring for us and how we can continue to be a bright light for our families.❤️

Our teen group had a whole lot of fun whisking up some memories in the kitchen! 🧑‍🍳

In November, our teen group got to take a trip up to Gilroy for a cooking class at Kneaded Bakery and Catering! They got to make a traditional Thanksgiving meal with mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, herb chicken, gravy, and more! From prepping the chicken to learning how to make a cranberry sauce, our teens got to leave with new cooking knowledge and some amazing food! 🍗🧡

We are grateful to be able to put on fun activities like these for our teens. A huge thank you to Kneaded Bakery and Chef Carlos for hosting our teens and teaching them this class. Thank you to Superior Foods for making this all possible, we could not do it without you all! 💛

We are overjoyed looking at all the amazing holiday drives coming in! 🎁

We had 30 drives put on for Jacob’s Heart by groups, businesses and individuals! Thank you to each and every single one of you for helping us wrap our families in love this holiday season. Because of your support, you will help ease the burdens of our families during the holidays and throughout next year. ❤️🎄

This upcoming Sunday is Worldwide Candle Lighting Day, a day for all to honor and remember the children who left us too soon. 🕯️💛

On Sunday evening, bereaved families will gather together with some of our staff and behavioral health team to remember their children. Families are invited to bring a dish to eat that honors their children’s memories and be together to connect with one another. Around 7pm, everyone will light a candle for their children and share stories that celebrate their lives.

This is always a special evening, filled with love and remembrance, where families come together and honor their children’s memories. Nights like these serve as a reminder that once a Jacob’s Heart family, always a Jacob’s Heart family. 🎗️

We spent a merry and bright evening with our families on Saturday! ❤️✨

Our family holiday party was full of joy, good company, and lots of laughs! We are so grateful to have spent a fun evening with our families at Santa’s workshop celebrating this festive season.🎅🏼Seeing new faces join in with others who have been a part of our Jacob’s Heart family for years was so special. It was a wonderful way to kick off our holiday festivities at Jacob’s Heart! 🎄

Thank you to the Legacy of Men Division, the Simply Irresistible Sisters, and Bay Federal for helping our holiday party run so smoothly, we truly appreciate your support. And a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to make the celebration special for our families!❤️

More bells have been rung and it is a joyous sound to hear! 🔔💗

In November, our Family Support Specialists got to celebrate with Amaia and her family as she rang the bell, signifying she is now in remission! ✨ Amaia was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in March 2023, her long treatment journey made this moment even sweeter. It was amazing to see her family come together to celebrate this great accomplishment! We were grateful to be by their side through the different parts of this journey and we will continue to stand alongside her family as they go into this new chapter. 🩷

Please give Amaia a huge round of applause for this huge accomplishment! 🎊🌟

Our last highlight for our behavioral health program is Jacob’s Heart kiddo, Carla! 💛

Carla and her family have been with Jacob’s Heart since spring of 2024. While their family has received grocery and financial assistance through Jacob’s Heart, Carla’s mom says that the emotional support has been the biggest help for them. Carla has been doing sessions through our behavioral health program over the past year. These sessions have played a huge role in helping Carla manage the anxiety and intense emotions that surfaced during her cancer treatment. With the support of our clinicians, she’s learned she isn’t alone and has gained tools to face difficult moments with confidence. Carla’s mom shared that Jacob’s Heart has been a blessing to their family, and she is deeply grateful for our team and for everyone who supports our work. ✨🤍

Carla rang the bell in June, marking the end of her treatment, and we are grateful to continue standing alongside her and her family as they navigate this new chapter! 🌟

Carla y su familia han estado con Jacob's Heart desde la primavera de 2024. Su familia ha recibido ayuda para la compra de alimentos y ayuda financiera a través de Jacob's Heart, la madre de Carla afirma que el apoyo emocional ha sido la mayor ayuda para ellos. Carla ha estado asistiendo a sesiones a través de nuestro programa durante el último año.
